Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Ski was vile to me today. Beyond vile.
And now he needs me to remove the hospital dressing and re-bandage his finger.

Me: Can I spray it with Bactine?

I thought he was going to faint just at the thought of it. I think I’ll set the Bactine on the counter just for the fun of it.

I already did my good deed for the day. I’ve got spare karma in the bank.
try this next time

All done. Boy oh boy, his finger is a real mess. Mike and Spenser gave the bathroom a wide berth during the very long, very loud process.

I’m glad he’s seeing a specialist. I think the finger is going to need more attention. There is also a slight fracture, so I splinted it and way over gauzed it to cushion it.

Famous last words ... “yeah, I probably should have soaked it”. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ugh. Really no other words. Poor guy.

You have a lot of patience. He's very fortunate to have you in his corner.

I’m not diagnosed OCD but I like things the way I like them and I am very routine oriented. Little changes beyond my control throw my world off balance. That being said:

They switched my garbage days as of January 1st. Used to be picked up on Tuesday/Friday and now it’s Monday/Thursday. It’s completely thrown me off. I don’t know what day it is, I’m doing fridge clean ups on the wrong days, I have this nagging feeling I’m forgetting something. It’s bad. All over the stupid garbage pickup. I feel like when Penny filled all the washing machines on Saturday night.
Sympathy like. I'm sorry it throws you off. They do that all the time, here, and then of course on holidays, they change the schedule if your pickup day falls on the holiday. Here, they only pick up regular trash and plastic once every 4 weeks, so if you miss it, you have to wait ANOTHER 4 weeks before they pick it up...and the bin is NOT that big. Green gets picked up every 2 weeks, and that's the one we could leave for 4 weeks most of the time, unless I've just mowed the grass. But our regular trash was scheduled just after New Years, on the 2nd, and hubby had seen a bunch of bins at the curb on the Saturday before, so he put ours out with them. Then he never went and got it, and you get a fine if you leave it too long, so I went and got it. Then on the 2nd, he saw them all on the curb again and assumed that ours didn't need to be emptied again, so he left it. Now I have a hugely full trash bin and another 3 weeks to wait before the next pick up. Apparently hubby didn't fill it up before bringing it to the curb....so when I went to get it, I didn't realize it hadn't been emptied because it wasn't heavy. Now it's MY fault he didn't put it out again on the 2nd because he didn't know it hadn't been emptied. Either that, or we generated a LOT of trash between the Saturday before NYE and the 2nd of January. But it really does throw you off when they change things!

I might put Elf on.
We watched Elf the other night because I thought one of my high school friends was in it, but he's in Jingle All the Way, not Elf. Anyway, DS ran from the room and refused to watch the rest once Buddy made his pasta. So far, we haven't gotten him to watch a single movie all the way through....except Ralph Breaks the Internet, which he saw in the theater. It's either too scary, too sad, too gross, etc.

I have ZERO patience, but when you’re the mom you gotta do what you gotta do.

Also, once I saw the extent of the injury, I felt a little more inclined to forgive him for being so vile. During the more than hour long process to remove the dressing (which would have taken 15 mins if he’d just soaked it off!), he twice asked me if I would call Aunt Jan to ask if she would pray for him.

Sympathy like. Poor guy...and poor you! But I don't think you have zero patience...you obviously have some, or you'd have shipped him off to the doctor to do the dirty work. How long is he out of work? Or does it just depend on the recovery?

I’m not saying they shouldn’t have the right. If they want to talk politics, go on the news or to a rally. If you’re on a press tour for a movie or doing an interveiw focus on what your actual job is.

This isn’t a thing of “I’m on this side and don’t want to hear your side” either. Frankly, I think both sides are nuts and I don’t want any part of it.
Neither do I, but, if you live in this country and have any grasp on history, you shouldn't be hiding from it. Your future and the future of your children and their children depend on people making a stand when they feel the things have taken a disastrous swing. As a Veteran and a history nut, I am scared to death. Having people with recognition and communication skills might just be what will make the difference. I am not going to complain about someone making a statement during an awards show, or anywhere else, if it will help stop the undermining of our freedoms and give us back our dignity.

Well, if they got grief (sorry to hear that--wish people were more polite), at least they still were able to express their opinions.

And now, they certainly have plenty of access to media to get their thoughts out there. (Ever watch TMZ? ;) They chase celebrities all over the place--they'd love to get an interview on any topic a celebrity wants to talk about.)

Especially with the internet now, it's easy for them to reach millions, if they want to.
And that is what they are doing. More people will hear the message on those types of nationally followed shows, then every 10 minutes on TMZ. I, for one, have never watched it and I am sure that I am not alone.

He’s back to work already. They have him on restricted duty, which means a whole lot of doing nothing. His choice not to stay home. He’s really looking forward to the weekend though.

I hear ya, I’m just over it. I don’t tune in to an awards show to hear politics. American politics, at that.

I just want to see who is wearing who, who brought their mommy as their date, and to look for #fijiwatergirl.

Have your own Cananadian award show, eh! This will all be over with soon. It's going to be messy, but, it will end. In the meantime the most interesting thing that is happening in the world is the very thing you don't want to see. They can't even make up a TV show like this. :jawdrop::joyfull: No reality show ever had this much conflict.
