Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Pretzel bread with beer/cheese dipping sauce.
2 each.

We each ordered French onion soup. Mike had a few spoonfuls and said, “You won’t like it. I’ll take care of it for you”. 😂2F7E41AC-FC59-498B-B471-25DE9D76BA62.jpeg

He needn’t have worried, I always give him more than half.

He got ribs and chicken. The chicken texture was mushy. He couldn’t even swallow the piece he’d already put in his mouth. Everything else was good.

I got the steak salad. It’s steak. It’s salad. My two favourite things. I ate at least half. Mike ate the rest ... seeing as he had room after not eating the chicken.

I finally made it home to my apartment. I didn’t think I’d ever get here. I had a late start, it rained almost the whole way, and I lost count of how many accidents I had to pass. Thankfully I’m home safe now. Really looking forward to seeing Mike and Jennifer tomorrow.

Glad you made it home safe. Bad weather conditions, particularly winter weather, gives me more anxiety than anything else.

If you want to feel anxiety? Be a bus driver, driving 35 miles through a high wind blizzard, after dark, with 45 passengers sitting right behind you that are depending on you to get them home safely. Then knowing that after you get them there, you have to pick up a few more people and head back through it again to get them and you home.
It may seem funny, but, in that situation you have to forget the passengers and realize that if you get yourself there safely, they will get there as well. It's easier, and a lot less stressful, to just focus on taking care of one then dozens.
And there are people that still wonder why I moved south.

US-17 or US 1 can be a really nice ride. Takes a little longer, usually, but, it is more of the old southern architecture. If you ever want to see something spectacular, like a natural art show, drive down from Myrtle Beach through there in late March and early April when the Azaleas are in full bloom. Some of the small towns along that way have every household lot covered with them. It is quite a sight to see. They even have local contests to see who (or possibly whom) has the best display of those and other flowers.

That stretch of I-95 has a lot of accidents for some reason. Personally I think that it is because of those that decide to drive from up north non-stop to Florida. About the time they get to southern SC and into Georgia they are pretty sleepy and not as alert as they should be. But, that is just the old Defensive Driving teacher talking. Did your detour carry you right into Savannah? I see by that picture that you were pretty close. I really like that town. Haven't been in years though.

I also like the less travelled roads. One time, I had a ride from Daytona down to Orlando, and the driver avoided the highways for most of it. It's so much more interesting to take in the sights off the beaten path. :)

2 of my college suitemates drove to FL in an old beat up Buick that couldn't go the speed limit without extere rattling and shaking, so they went from here to Ft Lauderdale on back roads - took them about twice as long to get there. :joyfull::joyfull:
