Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Nothing says Christmas like bald, naked mannequins!

*waves to the Live Feeders*
I know, right? After a bit, I stopped taking pictures of them, because some of them were REALLY creepy looking. The few I got that weren't in cages were bad enough, but you put a cage around it and it was just....odd. They had some really strange things. Like...why on earth would you hang bacon on your tree? And there was a whole range. There were some very elegant looking icicles, and then some that looked more like carrots with freezer burn. And butterflies that were furry and mishapen, and then some that were really pretty made of lace or with glitter embelishments. Owls that were very perfect looking and some that looked like they woke up on the wrong side of the bed. So there really is kind of something for everyone, no matter what style of tree you are doing, from traditional, to the whimsical, to the tacky. They did NOT, however have any sheep ornaments, which is what I wanted for DS since he is crazy about sheep. They had one sheep decoration, but not an ornament and it wasn't at all soft and cuddly.

I’ve got a double batch of butterscotch confetti squares chilling in the fridge. Once I cut them and put them in Ziploc bags, I’ll make a single batch of chocolate confetti ones.

The grocery shopping is done. The wrapping is done. I never did finish getting stocking stuffers, but I have all kinds of candy bags I bought with our leftover Snack Credits from the Main Street Confectionary. I’m as ready as I’m going to be.

Mike wanted to cancel everyone coming for Christmas dinner, but truth is, he feels this way every year.

Once Bro #1 gets married in June, he and his new wife can start hosting. 👍

Now to start packing for our road trip!

@ajrwdwgirl ,
If the Vikings lose to the Chicago Bears and the Eagles beat the Redskins then the Eagles will make the playoffs.
How do you feel about the Vikings upcoming game?
............and how do YOU feel personally? As you read this post of mine are you free of pain or at least feeling better?

This week Canadians will bid farewell to the beautiful Centre Block for more than a decade. Massive renovations are expected to last into the early 30’s.

And here’s something I learned from Global News’ retrospective - the arguably most famous picture of Winston Churchill was taken within the Centre Block’s walls. The reason for the scowl - the photographer had unceremoniously plucked Churchill’s cigar from his mouth. 😂

Full story here, but I bet @Eric1955 already knew the salient facts.

Yes, I’ve heard that story before. I’m a big Winston Churchill fan. I have a Churchill style bow tie that I frequently wear to church.
Heading home soon?

My church has two Christmas Eve services. I’m going to go to the early service at 4, and right after I’m hitting the road to go be with my family for Christmas.

Well, that's exciting about your brother getting married! WILL he start hosting? My brother is one of those creatures of habbit...he's used to someone else doing the work/paying for it....he won't do it himself. Every visit we've had with my brother since I moved over here has been on my dime, including the one time he came here...I paid for his flight and he stayed with my in-laws and had no hotel or food expenses. When we've gone there with the family, we've stayed in hotels.

Or do you just say "Your turn!"? I just know in my family, if -I- don't do it, it won't get done.

What a beautiful building! What exactly are they going to do to it? I hope they aren't changing the outside!!!

A large group of us from church went out carloning tonight. This has become one of my favorite Christmas traditions. It’s always so much fun.

Eric, a little deja vu here. Keep the caroling tradition alive, as it means a lot more to others, than you may realize.

When I was kid, the neighbors next door to us had a little boy battling cancer. Children from the school went to the boy's house one night before Christmas, stood outside, and sang Christmas carols. The little boy's parents pushed his wheelchair up to the front (outer glass) door, so that he could see and hear them. I'll never forget the smile on his face, indicative of the joy they brought to him.
