Yea, a melted credit card. Just the bread and Calamara was $50.00. No food, no matter how good is worth that much money. $14.00 for Garlic Bread? Seriously? I guess I would never be able to enjoy any food that cost that much. Chicken Parmezano, $40.00. All of a sudden WDW seems pretty inexpensive.

I thought those prices were very high, too. Then again, it's New York City. But Jennifer and her family are having a fun long weekend vacation in NYC, at Christmastime. Guess even I could justify the prices for a special weekend like that. Sometimes it's o.k. to splurge!

Eric, those benches look like the ones in front of the American pavilion -- is that where the Christmas program is? I never actually knew where they held it, as I've never been to WDW in December. So glad you got a good seat!

I don't care if others do that, it's fine with me, but, I do know I would never ever do it. I look like a person that really, really, really loves food, but, I can never justify that much. I know a few that are fine with it, just not me. Heck, to night I went to Red Robins and had a bowl of French Onion Soup and a Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich and that came to $20.00 with tip and I have been asking myself all evening why I didn't just come home and have a P B & J, (toasted). And you are absolutely right, it is OK to splurge once in awhile.I thought those prices were very high, too. Then again, it's New York City. Perhaps part of the problem was that the waiter dropped off my soup and sandwich at the same time and as he put it down he noticed that he hadn't brought me a spoon. He said, I'll get you one. Then disappeared. About 10 minutes later he showed up and asked how everything was, to which I replied. It's hard to tell since I still don't have a spoon. His reply was... yea you probably need one of those and went off once again returning about 5 minutes later. By then the soup was cold. The chicken sandwich had a ton of teriyaki sauce dumped all over it and it was so sloppy that I couldn't eat it like a sandwich I had to cut it up with a knife and fork then pick the paper off the bottom of the bun before I could eat it because the knife cut through the sandwich and the wax paper under it. I knew there was a reason that I hadn't been to Red Robin for about 5 years even though it's less then a mile away.

Wow, that was a disappointing meal. As a side note, we had a Red Robin open up in our area, and a few of our friends went there twice. The first time it was awful, but they chalked that up to it being fairly new with new staff, etc. They went back there a month later and it was WORSE!
Said they didn't hire enough wait staff, and the "manager" was a lazy moron, who didn't pitch in and help out. Useless. So from what you told me, and from what our friends told us about the one up here, I think I'll avoid that chain!

The prices on the menu are high but each dish is meant to serve 3-4 people. We ordered a salad, an appetizer and 2 meals and had three BIG eaters and one Ski and had a LOT leftover and we were too full for dessert.I thought those prices were very high, too.
