It's brutal out. Apparently all winter is supposed to be extra cold and extra snowy. Ugh!If I keep shopping in this 10 degree weather, everyone is going to wind up getting winter coats because all I can think of is warm things.
My daughter invited 3 friends to sleep over and they all have lacrosse in the morning. We're supposed to get 2-4 inches. I don't drive when it's snowing. This is a recipe for disaster. It's brutal out. Apparently all winter is supposed to be extra cold and extra snowy. Ugh!
Sympathy like.My daughter invited 3 friends to sleep over and they all have lacrosse in the morning. We're supposed to get 2-4 inches. I don't drive when it's snowing. This is a recipe for disaster.
With tomorrow's weather, I don't think anyone is playing any field sports. My daughter invited 3 friends to sleep over and they all have lacrosse in the morning. We're supposed to get 2-4 inches. I don't drive when it's snowing. This is a recipe for disaster.
Down here that are talking about above average temperatures through March. I'm OK with that, eh!It's brutal out. Apparently all winter is supposed to be extra cold and extra snowy. Ugh!
Indoor practice - on turf. We're fancy. With tomorrow's weather, I don't think anyone is playing any field sports.
Lacrosse was first declared the National Game of Canada in 1859. In 1994 Parliament passed the Canada's National Sport Act which declared lacrosse to be "Canada's National Summer Sport", with hockey as the national winter sport.Indoor practice - on turf. We're fancy.
See, here's the thing I don't understand...once it gets past freezing... it's just cold. I don't understand negative degree coldness . Cold is cold. What's the difference in "feels like 1 degree" and "feels like -16 degrees"?Right now it is 14 out and feels like 2. Wednesday night it was 1 degree, feeling like -16. That's how all of yesterday went, too.
There is a so cold your eyes burn when the wind blows difference.See, here's the thing I don't understand...once it gets past freezing... it's just cold. I don't understand negative degree coldness . Cold is cold. What's the difference in "feels like 1 degree" and "feels like -16 degrees"?
I'm GLAD I don't understand as it gets cold enough in the south for me. Bbrrrrrr
I think you are confusing wind chill with actual temperatures. Wind chills are what makes it feel colder then it actually is and has a certain amount of relevancy because the colder it is the quicker the skin will freeze or otherwise be detrimental to ones health. -30 degrees is cold and if you stay exposed to it long enough you will lose a few finger or toes, however, if there is a chill factor involved due to wind then it will affect the skin quicker then just straight low temperatures. However, just cold itself without wind chill will kill you if you are exposed long enough. Things freeze solid in your refrigerator at around +31 degrees F. Basically humans are a big chunk of meat that can freeze especially if ones blood flow is reduced by dilated blood vessels. Hypothermia!See, here's the thing I don't understand...once it gets past freezing... it's just cold. I don't understand negative degree coldness . Cold is cold. What's the difference in "feels like 1 degree" and "feels like -16 degrees"?

No thank you. There is a so cold your eyes burn when the wind blows difference.
There is a massive difference between 1 degree and 32 degrees. 32 degrees is a light jacket or sweatshirt kind of weather. 1 degree is a sweatshirt and jacket weather, gloves and a hood/hat. -16 is sweatshirt, big coat, gloves, hat and hood.See, here's the thing I don't understand...once it gets past freezing... it's just cold.
