Wait until Nicholas Cage shows up - that's when things get scary:

Okay, as I might have shared, I have the nesting itch.
Today, I stole my designer pieces back from Hubby's family room and moved them up to my living room.

His room is done. Mine still needs some work.

Have to buy new drapes at the very least, as the old ones are already in the garbage.

That ceiling texture is interesting - is that a standard thing in Canada? I like the wood floor a lot!

Is there a pony looking in your window in that last picture? o_O

Family room? Ugh - you should have seen the ceiling when we moved in. It was a million times worse. Some of the peaks were 2 or 3 inches long. My brother and I took a rake (the solid kind, not the fan type) and knocked down more than 70 lbs of plaster.
Short of drywalling over it, that's as good as we could get it.

It looks pretty bad in the photos, I agree. It's slightly better IIRL, as it is in keeping with the rustic feel of the the rest of the room.

If you are referring to the swirly textured ceiling in the living room - that was a very common application to the "formal" rooms back in the 70's. I don't even notice it anymore.

I have been shopping. (Of course I have. :angelic:) More pics later, once I've hung the new window coverings.

I know nobody cares...but Texas is having a good college football signing day today. Picked up the number 2 safety prospect in the country and now the number 2 linebacker prospect in the country. :D

I guess that must be good. Since I don't watch football, I wouldn't know, but you seem very happy. :)

By the way, I assume you'll be watching the Super Bowl football game. If you get bored with that (or just want to take a little break), maybe you might want to watch what I tune into every year. There's lots of action on the field and a fun halftime show. And if you go to your computer (on the Animal Planet web site) while Puppy Bowl is on (starts at 3:00 p.m. EST), you can vote for MVP (Most Valuable Puppy)!

And if you have your pals over, there are recipes for party snacks. (Pupcakes and People Chow are a few of them.) :joyfull: :joyfull:
