I feel like I've been on the road for 21 hours. But we're only in Atlanta.
It's a cruel joke our brain plays with us on road trips. You can go the exact same distance & route both coming and going. Yet going on your trip is a breeze, but coming......back.......home.......always.....never......seems......to.........end......and.......goes......on.....and.......on........forever.........and...........EVER!!!! :banghead::banghead::banghead:

My coming-home monotony usually hits me on the stretch of I-75 between Chattanooga & Knoxville for some reason. Only a 2-hour distance at best, but seems to always take the longest coming back.

That's because you should have stayed longer!

Especially when it gets dark during the drive home.

I LOVE embarking on a road trip when it's dark, and watching it gradually get light as I'm driving.
We always used to leave here at around 9 or 10 pm to avoid the rush hour traffic in NYC and DC, so by the time we got through VA the sun would be coming up. You're right, watching the skies brighten as you drive is pretty cool, and energizes you.

It's still a long drive though...

Fun fact: I've been closer to Vince Young than Aaron Rodgers.

Only because Aaron locks his doors and Vince doesn't...
