Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Since you didn’t see the whole Iron Resurrection episode I referenced, @MinnieM123
The other cars pictured are from some of Nyle Maxwell’s personal car collection. Sorry, that may have been a bit confusing, as I didn’t mention it in my original post.
Granted, it’s no Jay Leno’s Garage, but it’s gettin’ up there…!!! ;):)

We started watching the game at the top of the 7th inning. Carolyn and the dogs went to our bedroom around 11p…? I stayed watching in the living room. The dogs wanted out a little before 2a. She had already been asleep for over 2.5 hours and said “They’re still going…?!?!?!”. Her and I saw the game-ending walk-off homer together…talk about timing…!!!!! :hilarious:
The Jays are definitely giving the Dodgers a run for their money, and I still hope the Jays eventually take it…!!! :)

On a more somber note…
Hurricane Melissa is going to be devastating, beyond what it already has been.
Montego Bay in Jamaica is gonna’ get hit hard. We’ve been there on two of our cruises, and it was awesome. Plus, on our last cruise there we did the Dolphin Cove excursion, further west. Hope they can take care of the dolphins and keep them safe.
Prayers to all that have been, are currently and will be affected.

Hey, @MinnieM123
I’m currently wrapping up watching an episode of Iron Resurrection on Motor Trend, where they are “restoring”/ hot rodding (in quotes because it was already in decent shape) a ‘63 Chevy Impala with a 409.
The really fun part about it is that the car is owned by a car dealer friend of ours that used to go to our church. We bought our ‘90 Jeep Cherokee Laredo and our ‘01 Dodge Grand Caravan from him. He now owns several dealerships in Central Texas. His name is Nyle Maxwell.
Haven’t seen him in a few years, as they moved and now go to a different church, and we haven’t bought any vehicles from him in a while, but still pretty darn cool…!!! :)
It’s season 3, episode 3, and you can find it on YouTube, if you’re interested…!!! :geek:

My cousin owned a hotrod shop. He passed away a few months ago, but he was always working on his hotrods. Jim Unruh, if you are interested in looking him up.

First off, my sincerest condolences regarding his passing. Sounds like he was a good man, and a pretty amazing hot rodder.
I didn’t click on everything I found about him on the internet, and had, personally, never known of him, but I found the below article particularly interesting.
I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s, and have always had an affinity for hot rods and American muscle cars.
My Pop and his buddies were shade tree mechanics back in the day, and I’ve done my share of working on cars over the years.
For me (and I’m sure it was for your cousin), the sound of a perfectly tuned engine is like the sound of a perfectly tuned musical instrument…it’s beautiful music…!!!
So I provided a video below the article…!!! ;):)

Sad to hear about the loss of your cousin, Jim Unruh. 🙏

Although I was unfamiliar with him, I looked up some interesting information online, about his work.

Also, regarding the (Chevy Nova SS video) that donaldtoo shared (above my post here), it always amazes me how a good mechanic relies on the "sounds" a car makes -- to diagnose whether a vehicle is purring -- or whether it is on it's last legs!

Yes, although many times all the engine needs is a good tuning. But if there’s clicking or knocking, major problems are brewing, or have already happened.
That engine has that loping sound at idle because of a “radical” (performance) camshaft…higher lift, longer duration, etc., which makes the engine perform better at higher RPMs.
I think I posted about it before, but a few years ago at the convenience store in our old neighborhood, when I was walking out of the store one day, a guy pulled up in a beautifully restored 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS 454, painted yellow.
The engine obviously had a similar radical cam, but he wasn’t running open headers like in the video I posted.
We chatted for a few minutes, and it turns out his Pop bought the car new, and had passed a few years ago.
His Pop kept it in pretty good condition, but the son (about my age) decided to completely restore it and add some more performance to the engine.
From the factory, it would have been putting out 450hp, but he said it was putting out about 550hp now.
A pic of its twin below…!!! :geek::)

Thank you. Yes, he had his issues, but he was a good man. We enjoyed traveling with him. He's the cousin we traveled through South Dakota with, and we met up with him and his brother in Wyoming in 2022. His brother passed about six months before he did. And we also met up with Jim and his whole family (all the kids and grandkids) in Epcot in 2019. We've had a lot of great times with their family. His daughter was supposed to come over at the end of July for her boyfriend's father's funeral in Norway, and we were going to spend some time in Amsterdam, but their flight to Amsterdam was canceled and they couldn't get a new one until the day they were supposed to go back to Norway, so it didn't end up happening.

We used to stay at their house whenever we visited my mom's family. (Jim was my mom's nephew) He ALWAYS had that hotrod in his garage from the time I can remember. I don't even know when he finally finished it. I just remember it always being there. I don't think he ever actually worked on it when I was growing up. But he got sober I think in the '90s and finally started working on it. I didn't know Brett ever even drove it! I figured it would have been Matty that drove it...he's the one who shared the love of cars, and I think Matty worked in the business for a while. He went to the Tech School in Laramie, Wyoming and then I think he went back to Illinois to work in the garage with his dad. So I was surprised to read that Brett drove it for a while. I wonder where that car ended up, if Brett still has it or if they sold it.

After a quick internet search, I couldn’t find any info as to the current disposition of the T-Bucket, so I’m going to assume it’s still with the family.
That being said, the guy who wrote the article I posted was obviously completely smitten with it, so maybe he has first dibs if they ever decide to sell it…?! 🤔;):)
Or, I could easily make room for it in my garage, and it could be driven, pretty much, year-round in these parts…!!! :geek:
But, I may also someday see it run across the block of a Barrett-Jackson, Mecum, etc. auto auction, for someone else to give it another good, loving home…!!! ;):)

JenniferS

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
@JenniferS I am rooting for the Blue Jays. Last night I only made it until midnight. I can't believe the game went 18 innings until almost 2 am .
I watched the whole thing! (Of course I did!)
The game actually went until a minute or two shy of 3 am.

This was everyone Tuesday morning. 😂

Between baseball and the new job, I haven’t been here much the past few weeks, but once I find my rhythm at work and the Blue Jays win the World Series, I’ll be back to play catch up!

Heading back to Toronto with a 3-2 series lead. One more, Baby!

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.
