Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I went up to work in my classroom again today. I spent about 4.5 hours up there, bringing my total to 12.5 so far for classroom setup. I'm probably going back up on Wednesday again, maybe a third day, too.

I went into my classroom quick today to see what was going on. Still no lights, no timeline on when lights will be installed, most of my furniture isn't there either. Inservice starts a week from today, kids arrive next Thursday. What could go wrong?

Wow, you start early!

I don't officially report back until Friday the 22nd, and even then we aren't sure if we have to. Our superintendent said we can work virtually on our Safe Schools trainings that day, but our principal said we had to be in the building. So we have to figure that out. Either way, I've already done all of my modules. I played the videos on mute as I was doing daily tasks such as showering or making supper. Then I just took the quiz.

But we have our real inservice the 25-28th. We have a Back to School Carnival on the 26th after inservice, then Open House after inservice on the 28th. Kids start on September 2nd.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of starting early but I am a fan of the students being done the last Friday in May. We have an inservice day the following Monday but that's fine. We have two more summers of the construction stuff. Next summer is supposed to be flooring in my room. A teacher next to me had his room demo'd on the day the students left this May. Like literally the students left at 12:30pm and then construction guys were coming down the hallway with their gear before the busses pulled away. This teacher's room is still gutted. It is crazy that our calendar planners didn't allow for construction delays. Oh well, it will be what it will be. Since you are starting later (or on a normal date) what day are you done with the school year?

We're also done the last Friday in May (the 29th). Then we have the following Monday and Tuesday at PD Days. Last year was the first time in my career that our last day with students was in May. I think we accomplish it by having longer school days (by a little bit) and fewer breaks throughout the year.
