Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I'm glad you took your mom to the Dr, looks like it was needed. Hope she it heals fast and feels better (I'm assuming it is a little achy).

Thank you so very much…!!! :)
Funny thing is she says her head doesn’t hurt at all, but the knee she went down on is sore, of course.
Although everything was fine, the doc asked her if she wanted to stay overnight for observation, and she replied with an emphatic “NO…!!!”…!!!!! :hilarious:
Anyway, thank you again…!!! :)

So, it was an interesting morning/afternoon. Got a call from Pop about 9:30a that Mom had fallen in the foyer of their home and busted the back of her head against the door. He said she was bleeding a lot, at first, but got it to stop.
He wanted me to come over to check her out. I tried to get him to call 911, but he said she was OK. I asked all the typical questions…is she dizzy, is she nauseous, does she look like she wants to doze off…she answered in the background that she was fine. I still knew I needed to go check them out. I had Matt get ready early and go with me, as he wasn’t due into work until noon. Pop called at about 9:30a.
Got there and saw this…

Yea, we’re goin’ to the ER.
All is well now though.
They put 2 staples in her head (she didn’t want a local anesthetic, mind you), did a CT scan that turned out fine, but while we were waiting for the results I had to get Matt to work, through one of the craziest deluges I’ve seen here in a few years. I was driving 15 mph and still could barely see in front of me.
Fortunately, by the time I got back to the hospital, the results from the CT scan were in, and there were no issues whatsoever.
I got off the phone a little while ago with them to check in and Mom was up making tea.
She just turned 86 and Pop is 92.
It’s hard to watch their decline because we love them so very much, but, as Pop said to Mom in the ER earlier, life is life, and we’ve had a great one.

Glad she's okay. That looks scary.

Head wounds always look bad. That being said, that head wound looks bad. 🙁

I’m glad she’s okay, and I’m hoping she doesn’t have a doozy of a headache later tonight. Did they suggest she ice it? (Icing sucks. I always hate the thought of it more than the actual icing itself. I’m almost always glad I iced though.)

I’m sure you’ll be checking in with them a few times tonight.

So sorry to hear that your mom fell and cut her head. From the looks of the photo, that must have been a really bad fall. I'm glad that you took her to the ED, so that the doctor could properly tend to her wound. Hoping she takes it easy at home today, and rests.

Indeed, it looked bad.
When I and Matt got there, I asked all the questions again…do you feel dizzy, nauseous, are you feeling sleepy, etc.
She answered no to all, and then wanted to take a shower before I drove them to the ER…my dear Mom…!!!!! :hilarious:
I told her that ain’t gonna’ happen. She did change her blouse that had blood on it, and Matt and myself cleaned up the rest of the blood from the foyer tile.
Icing was, indeed, included in the release instructions.
And yes, I checked on Mom and Pop a coupla’ more times last night via phone, as well as my 3 younger siblings did…they were probably getting tired of all the phone calls…!!!!! 😅
I knew when I saw Pops cell number pop up on my phone that something was wrong. He almost never calls, especially that early in the morning…it’s usually Mom. I was like “Oh s**t…!!!”
Anyway, thank you so very much for your concern…!!! :)

I haven’t called them this morning as it’s still a bit early here, even though they are, generally, early risers. So many phone calls yesterday I’m gonna’ hold off for a bit.
Thanks again, Minnie…!!! :)

That is how I am with my Mom. She rarely calls me and when she does it's usually....so I'm at the hospital and no you don't need to fly up.

Oh my. Yea, it’s usually Mom that calls us, just to say hi or to verify we’re coming over for some celebration or dinner or something.
As I posted, I knew something was up when I saw Pops cell number…plus it says “Pops cell” or “Moms cell” when the call comes in, plus they still have a landline that shows up as “Mom & Pop”…!!!!! :hilarious:
We used to live less than a mile away from them, but in our new neighborhood we’re about 12 miles away now, to be closer to our granddaughters. We can take the toll road or go the back way to get to their home, which is about 2 miles further, and I usually take the back way to avoid the tolls, but yesterday Matt and I hauled rear down the toll road.
This morning, Matt and I left early to take him to work so we could spend about an hour with them before I had to drop him off.
They were both doing fine, and Mom said she was having no head pain issues whatsoever. She sounded great and looked great, and her and Pop were both in good moods…!!!!!
Anyway, thank you so very much again for your concern…!!! :)
