We’ve never been to KSC, but I hear it’s similar to JSC. The shuttle at JSC is a replica, because, for some odd reason, they didn’t get one of the actual shuttles. 🤷‍♂️
I think they have a similar simulator at JSC, as well, but we didn’t do it.
I’ve only ever been on M:S orange, and have always loved it…!!! :)
That Saturn V rocket display is simply awesome.
We also took a tram tour to see Mission Control, and also toured the old Mission Control building, and even sat in the same seats where the astronauts families did.
I could go on, but, bottom line, it was just really cool…!!! :geek:
JSC was supposed to get the Columbia after it was retired. Those plans didn't work out so well.

I first visited Disneyland in the summer of ‘68 at age 5. Have visited 4 more times since…’70, ‘72, ‘87 and ‘10. Unfortunately, we haven’t visited since.
First visit to WDW was on our honeymoon in December of ‘88. Carolyn was 25 and I was 26.
Have visited several times since, including the “Worldwind” trip when we flew in and out with Emmy on the same day back on October 29th, 2019.
We’ve done cruises with Emmy and Audrey, but, as far as DCL cruises go, we did a 5-day with them back in December of ‘22. All our other cruises have been Carnival, although Megan and Daniel took the girls on a RCCL cruise a little while back. DCL is just too expensive, but the one time was fun with all the Christmas stuff goin’ on. 🎅
We also went to WDW with them in October of ‘23 and late June/early July of last year.
All great trips, and we made great memories, but it’s all just getting too complicated in regard to planning, and too expensive. We have no plans to go back to WDW anytime soon.
The next thing we have coming up is another week-long family Carnival cruise at the end of June, out of the Port of Galveston on the Jubilee…!!! :)
I went to Disneyland when I was less than a year old, I guess, but of course I don't remember it. And I went to WDW for the first time when I was 3, I guess....we went to Florida for my great aunt and uncle's anniversary party. I have a very vague memory from our drive there, that we had stopped at "Little America" or "Great America"....something America, and they had a ball pit, and I remember not being big enough to get in it, but my brother was, and I was very upset that he got to go in and I didn't. And I think my Uncle took me to do something else, but I don't remember what. I remember nothing from Disneyworld on that trip, but there are pictures somewhere.

Then we went to Disneyworld when I was around 8 or 9. And I think again maybe when I was 13? Then I started taking my kids when E was 4 and A was 2.

I first went to WDW in 2002, when I was in second grade. I'm not sure why my parents first decided to go... probably just to take their kids to Disney. But whatever happened that first trip was fun enough that we've gone nearly every year since. Our biggest gap was 3 years between 2019 and 2022. And before that, we switched to every other year for a little while. They haven't always made good money, but this is the one thing they would splurge on. But back then it was 5 or 6 day trips, no park hopper, etc... we go a little crazier these days.

My dad has also had some health issues over the past few years, and I think that's spurred my mom to not be stingy and just go. He's not going to be able to do these full trips for too much longer, so make the memories while we can. That's also part of the reason my dad and I have gone down earlier than the rest these past few trips. We're the two biggest Disney nerds, and we could live there.
We were pretty poor after the divorce, but mom had relatives in Florida, so we would drive to Florida, stay with relatives, and she would save up money for several years to be able to get tickets for a day or two at Disney. We stayed with relatives in Illinois on the way there and back so we didn't have hotel costs. I don't ever remember eating at a restaurant in the parks, and we certainly never stayed on property, but just getting to go was very exciting. We only ever got to go twice after my parents' divorce, and the one time before that because of the anniversary party, but my dad was NOT a traveler, and he did not like being away from home. I don't even know if he went to Disney with us...I know my mom mentioned my uncle taking us swimming, because neither my brother nor I could swim yet, and she couldn't take us BOTH in the pool, and my dad refused to go with her to take one of us, so my uncle stepped in to take us to the pool at the hotel. And I'm pretty sure the pictures have my aunt and uncle in them, too, but I don't remember if my dad was there. My dad was not a playful sort. I don't ever remember my dad playing with us. He just wasn't that kind of a dad, so he might not have even gone to the parks with us. I have no idea.

Yea, and that’s putting it mildly. I still remember the video of it disintegrating in the sky over Texas during reentry.
All because of a piece of foam from the external fuel tank becoming detached during launch and damaging the left wing. Truly tragic.

I got 9. I've never...

Worn Disney clothes to work (that I can recall)
Played mini-golf at Disney
Attended MVMCP (this is due to my mom and I both being teachers)
Attended Hoop De Doo Review
Tried a Dole Whip (I don't like pineapple)
Put a Disney decoration on my car (I don't like any decorations on my car)
Attended Food & Wine (again, because my mom and I are teachers)
Ate a Kitchen Sink
Dined a Cinderella's Royal Table (have absolutely no desire)

So, it was an interesting morning/afternoon. Got a call from Pop about 9:30a that Mom had fallen in the foyer of their home and busted the back of her head against the door. He said she was bleeding a lot, at first, but got it to stop.
He wanted me to come over to check her out. I tried to get him to call 911, but he said she was OK. I asked all the typical questions…is she dizzy, is she nauseous, does she look like she wants to doze off…she answered in the background that she was fine. I still knew I needed to go check them out. I had Matt get ready early and go with me, as he wasn’t due into work until noon.
Got there and saw this…

Yea, we’re goin’ to the ER.
All is well now though.
They put 2 staples in her head (she didn’t want a local anesthetic, mind you), did a CT scan that turned out fine, but while we were waiting for the results I had to get Matt to work, through one of the craziest deluges I’ve seen here in a few years. I was driving 15 mph and still could barely see in front of me.
Fortunately, by the time I got back to the hospital, the results from the CT scan were in, and there were no issues whatsoever.
I got off the phone a little while ago with them to check in and Mom was up making tea.
She just turned 86 and Pop is 92.
It’s hard to watch their decline because we love them so very much, but, as Pop said to Mom in the ER earlier, life is life, and we’ve had a great one.

I'm glad you took your mom to the Dr, looks like it was needed. Hope she it heals fast and feels better (I'm assuming it is a little achy).
