Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

The train operator keeps saying we're stopped because of a "discrepancy" a few stations down the track. He thinks that's a synonym for "problem" or "incident."

Oh, don't even get me started on "explanations" the train men attempt to roll over the passengers--like we're THAT stupid??!!! Apparently, it's also an issue on the train lines you ride as well.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
The following is a distinctly Canadian word that keeps popping up on my FB page. Who knows what it means? Without peeking.

And the word is ... bonspiel.

  1. A Bonspiel is a curling tournament, consisting of several games, often held on a weekend.

The excuse I get every week is: "There are signal problems up ahead."

Sometimes, the train men don't coordinate their excuses. When I got on a late arrival train this morning, the conductor at the back of the train told all of us (while we were boarding) that the train was late because the trains were delayed overnight, pulling into the start of the (route) line. Hence, they didn't have enough trains to start the morning and were cancelling some of the runs. Okaaayyyy . . . then a few stops down the track, another train man from the front of the train got on the PA system and apologized for the delay of our train this morning, citing an engine malfunction. So, which is it? Night crew drivers didn't get enough trains up at the start of the line, OR -- the (one) train I happened to be on was late because of an engine malfunction?

You see?? You see?? They lie to us all the time!!

Can you use it in a sentence?

Do they supply the curling irons, or are you allowed to bring your own? Is the tournament open to both sexes? o_O
