Thanks for sharing that interesting article--I didn't have a clue that all those other pleasant activities were going on, at the same time during Mardi Gras. All I've ever heard on the news (and other sources) is about all the crime, mayhem, and debauchery on Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras.
I used to work for an international hotel company that operated a hotel on Bourbon Street; and they always had to grease all the poles that lead up to the guest room balconies, so that the inebriated imbeciles wouldn't try to climb them. The hotel GM also had to hire a ton of extra security staff. Sheesh . . . some of the stories of things that went on inside and outside the hotel during that time were shocking! (Then again, I went to parochial school with nuns for 8 years, so pretty much, everything is shocking to me--even after all these years!
