Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Just received my first lower bill from DirecTV since I told them last month I wanted to cancel. Makes my happy. :D

I call them every six months. I don't threaten to cancel - I just tell them I've been a customer for over 10 years and they are offering spectacular deals to new customers - is there ANYTHING they can do to reward a loyal customer for staying with them? They typically take $5-$10 off a month for 6 months, give free HBO or some other pay channel (once it was the Sunday ticket!) and/or will upgrade our equipment. I love DirecTV. And I also love NOT being a Cablevision customer.

Yeah. That is was makes my a bit upset. Always specials for new customers but not for loyal ones. I was really going to cut the cord this time and told them the reasons why. I didn't tell them the only way I would stay is if they cut my bill significantly. But they offered this and I gladly accepted. About $44 less for the next 12 months. I was actually surprised by how much they cut it truthfully. The most I expected was an offer between $10 and $20.

After dealing with Comcast once, I don't mind Cablevision. The wifi available almost everywhere in the state is nice.

I'm mainly upset because they took out an existing attraction in a park that needs attractions for an out-of-place attraction. Plus, Maelstrom was one of my favorites. It needed updating for sure, but it still was a must-do for me.
Believe me, I know all about attractions that were must do's for me. World of Motion, (original) Imagination, 20K, Body Wars, Superstar TV, Sounds Dangerous, The Monster Sound Show and Backstage Studio Tour just to name some. Change happens, we don't control it. If enough people don't agree with us, it will eventually be gone. That's a fact of life. I was always told that it was just us "old" people that were adverse to change. I guess that covers all ages.

I have decided to not go on FB for a whole week. I am sick of reading crap (other than the "crap" on this forum ;)) so we will see how it goes.
At least our crap is calculated, thought-provoking, and derives from fact, unlike the constant political and other exaggerated drivel that FB is known for spewing.

If you agree with my above post, share with 30 of your friends, and you will receive good financial fortune in the days to come!
If you don't, then it's probably Obama's (and / or Trump's) fault.

Not 69, and not a Brit ... but Celine Dion's hubby, Rene Angelil has passed away.
Apparently he'd been doing well lately and his sudden death came as a surprise. :(

I just read recently about his failing health. Rene and Celine go back a long way, and she was very young when they paired up together. He started out as her manager, and then they married. Truthfully, I wasn't sure at the time if it would last due to the wide gap in ages; but, it was actually one of the more stable celebrity marriages. May he RIP.
