Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

My Mom let me do my own retro tree in our front room (technically my stepdad's office). Most of the ornaments are just made to look like they're from the 30's and 40's, but some of them were my great-grandmother's. My grandmother gave them to me, because she knew I would appreciate them and take good care of them.

Very nice! I miss tinsel. With kitties, tinsel isn't a good thing.

Not unless you like shiny litter boxes.

I had to snip off hundreds of gold sequins and glass beads from my tree skirt this year. For some reason, Max started chewing them off and swallowing them late last year. It took me more than an hour, and the skirt is quite plain now. :(

No tinsel, ribbons or bows, here. If someone manages to sneak those banned items in I end up with lots of piles of cat puke all over the house. Balloons with ribbons for their string are also limited unless stored properly when not in use. Isn't it funny what we will put up with for our pets?

We put bags of rocks on the base of the tree. So the tree doesn't fall over when the cats climb in it.
I used to have to tie it to the chair railing, but now that they're older, the cats just like to bat around the ornaments at the bottom and sleep on the tree skirt. We can;t put any presents under there ahead of time though because they like to open them for us.

We just throw ours outside into the wood shed while the tree is up. They're all ex-barn cats and this gives them a greater appreciation of living in a warm house....

No, actually we just shut the door to the room where the tree is...

One year our dog opened a box of chocolate candy.
