When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I just read on FB that Evan, the little boy for whom Christmas came early, has been in hospice since Wednesday.
Part of his mom's post:
" ... Evan continues to smile and light up the room. He continues to fight. But with every passing day he continues to get weaker. Evan, has entered the next phase of his journey....we left St. George Wed night and are staying in an incredible place that can handle Evans needs and make sure he is comfortable. It has been a blessing to have "the nursing care needs" not in my hands anymore. I can go back to being a mom and loving him and cherishing the time I have left with him ...."

I watched a few minutes of Die Hard during the summer. Does that count as my first Christmas movies?In four minutes, Elf is on.
My first Christmas movie of the season.
I also saw IFC was showing Christmas Vacation unedited during the off season so I DVRed it to watch in December. No more ABC Family censoring Uncle Eddie's famous line.

That explains his long absence. He's having to reenact his role for the Cananadian market.
I checked the US TVGuide and Elf isn't playing here yet.

Back in the day, Showcase was an artsy-fartsy channel that showed a lot of nudity. I had it on parental block for more than a decade.

So we went out at sunset tonight to a place I had read about on the island where there was an eagle's nest. We were not disappointed:
There was a young eagle in the adjacent tree but he flew off just after we arrived. We waited a few minutes though and watched the sky...
Mom and dad eagle both arrived, but Dad hid in the tall grass while Mom screeched orders from the nest:
It was awesome, and highlighted by another gorgeous sunset.
