The lightbulb needs changing, I change it.
The dishwasher needs emptying, I empty it.
The telephone rings, I answer it. (Unless it's a bill collector.)

But when the tv remote batteries need changing, I stall. I push the buttons so hard my fingers hurt. I shake it. I bang it. I negotiate with it. I pop open the back and give the batteries a spin. And then eventually, a few days later, I change the batteries. (Unless Hubby gets sick of my nonsense first.)

I can't be the only one, right?

P.S. - It's now day 4 of weak batteries.
I'm doing that right now with the mouse I use for my laptop. The battery is dead, and I tried rotating them, taking it out and putting it back in, but I think it's gone.

I take the batteries out, blow on the contacts, rotate them and put them back in. I can go weeks doing that. And it's not like I don't have batteries - it's just that they require getting up to get them.

Blowing on the contacts? I've not tried that...

What do you think it does? Do they like the warm air? or the smell of your breath?

It used to work with Sega Genesis games - when they stopped working we would take the cartridge out, blow on it and put it back in and it would work. I think it gets out any dust that might be blocking that very last bit of juice from the battery from powering the remote. Listen - it's not like you don't all already know I'm kooky - I have my own weird things I do and I swear they work!!

We used to do that for the Nintendo 64 too.
