Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

You know what's funny?
ehh...Rangers fans are still crapping their pants. It wasn't that long ago that we were 1 strike away from a world series win and couldn't do it.

I wonder if the extra off days hurt the division winners. The wild cards have been beating them the last couple of years under this new format.
You are very correct on this.

And I would certainly not want to be the 1st Wild Card team with the better record hosting the 2nd Wild Card team in the one game matchup. After this week's results, the hosting teams (a.k.a. The teams which would automatically be in the divisional round during the old system) are 2-6 in those games.

Thinking about this very good point you brought up, I did a little more digging up numbers.

Interestingly enough:

3 of the winning Wild Card teams have lost in the divisional round.
3 of the winning Wild Card teams have won in the divisional round.
2 of the winning Wild Card teams have won the LCS (both last season: KC, SF).
Only 1 Wild Card team that has made it to the LCS has lost the LCS (Cardinals, 2012)
So far, only the SF Giants have been able to win the World Series via the Wild Card route under the new system.
The Pittsburgh Pirates remain the only team to host a Wild Card game 3 years in a row. (Record: 1-2)
The Miami Dolphins have never hosted a MLB Wild Card game. (Record: 0-0)
No team that has lost the Wild Card game has gone on to win the World Series that season.

It'd be interesting to see the Dolphins win the World Series.
