Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Claritin didn't do squat for me. In an effort to get some sleep I called in the big dogs (Benadryl). The Nasonex was just an added layer for long term relief.

I feel the need to add that I take the children's dose of everything being that I am quite a small person and grown up doses give me the shakes.
Shakes? Chocolate for me, please.

You got: Royal advisor
Your loyalty and intelligence will earn you an important spot close to those in power. Chances are, you’ll actually be the one calling the shots!

You got: Castle cook
You like a high-energy, behind-the-scenes type of job, so as the castle cook, you’ll be constantly whipping up fun and surprises for everyone to enjoy.

Now if I only knew how to cook…and got some energy to do it.

Too cloudy to see the super moon tonight. So why not add some more pics from my September trip report saga. Who's ready for more Everglades fun? Time for another round of...
Arthur's Epic Nature & Wildlife Adventurepalooza Trip Report
Part V

So moving on to yet another section of this incredible National Park, Dad & I spent an afternoon at the Shark Valley area of the Everglades. This section of the National Park sits right off of US 41 (Tamiami Trail), and although it has nothing to do with sharks...there is still plenty of wildlife & Everglades goodness to be found here. :)

There are two very popular ways to explore the 15-mile loop trail which winds through the beautiful Shark Valley section of the Everglades:
-Bicycling on your own (rentals available)
-Guided tram tours

I would like to say that we took the brave choice and bicycled our way past gators & other wildlife. But that is not the case. We both definitely wanted to rent bicycles and brave the wilds. However, there were sporadic lightning storms popping up here & there on the day we visited Shark Valley. So we both decided that it would not be wise to be out on an open, 15-mile trail surrounded by wide flatlands on two bicycles when a sudden lightning storm decides to show up to say 'Howdy'.

So with all that being said, we went for the guided tram tour choice!

For this being our very first vacation to the Everglades, I am glad we took the tram tour. The guide was extremely knowledgeable & entertaining, and we learned a whole lot about the National Park & wildlife during our (two-hour) 15-mile roundtrip excursion, which included a stop at the Shark Valley observation tower (more on that later).

If you visit the Everglades, trust me, take the Shark Valley tram tour! Even if you go back later & bicycle / hike the trail yourself...doing the tram tour once is worth it! You will learn a lot, see a lot, and get a good grasp on the National Park & it's history. Anyhow, back to the trip report.

Getting ready to embark on the 2-hour tram tour into the Everglades wilderness:

And off we go! The clouds & landscape were magnificent, like we'd seen all along this trip. It never got old, and it never disappointed.

Not far into the tour, we come across some areas of standing water. And what is it that we see swimming in a pond just feet from our tram...

...alligator babies!

Not sure what this 'lil fellow was thinking, but I bet it was along the lines of:
"Can I EVER take a nap without a tram full of tourists stopping to take my friggin' picture?"

Right across the road in the other side of the pond was mamma keeping a watchful eye:

Further along on our ride we see a great blue heron standing beside the road:

More to come on our Shark Valley tram tour later. More wildlife, more gator babies. We even see a large gator run on land. (Don't let their weight or lay-around attitude fool you. They move FAST. )

To be continued...

Awesome report, as usual.
Off to beddy-byes, hoping I don't dream about that nasty looking Mama. So much menace displayed in one little eye!
