Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

The like is for getting your chores done, not for the late night and early morning.

I got a new fitness tracker because my old one wasn't working as well as it used to. The battery was dying faster and I don't think it was registering everything. According to the new tracker, I walked 2.4 miles. We have a route that we like that's in a tree lined road and it's a more isolated area. We've never measured it before, so now I know how far it is.

E got a LOT of walking in. She walked into the Centrum to see her friend who was performing for the king today. Because of all the blockades, she had to walk all the way around and she ended up walking more than 9 km. But she got to see the king, she got to shake Prince Maurits' hand (king's cousin) and she got to watch her friend play piano. She was probably on TV at some point, because a big camera was pointed in her direction right in front of them. (she was there with friends) it's kind of a once in a lifetime experience, so it's cool that she went, but I'm glad I didn't go. Way too crowded. It took her basically 45 minutes to get from one side of the street to the other because you had to walk around the barricades several kilometers to get there. But they were right at the front when the royal family went by, so that's pretty cool.

I got home a little while ago. The draft was fun. We rented a house in Green Bay through a connection my friend's mom had. It was about 2 miles from the stadium, but we never had to walk that far. We either got dropped off by one of our group members or parked closer.

On Thursday we did several things in the Draft Experience. They had lots of places to buy food and alcohol, as well as player signing, photo opportunities, and other random things. We made our way to the main stage eventually before the draft began.

The main stage event was honestly very disappointing. It's definitely an event made for TV and not the fan experience in person. Don't get it confused with everything as a whole... I'm talking about the experience of watching the picks be made. The hosts were awful. They kept telling us to raise the energy, but in the least enthusiastic way possible. They had no command of an audience. They also had two singers to fill the void for us, but they were really bad. We had a Bears fan with us, so after that pick, we went inside the stadium and got some food. We hung out in there until closer to the Packers pick, then went out to watch that.

The Packers pick was really cool. Seeing Mark Murphy (the Packers CEO) make the pick and announce "for the first time since 2002"... at that moment the crowd erupted because we all knew it was a wide receiver. Not taking a 1st round wide receiver has become a running gag for Packers fans. And the player we picked was there, so we got to see him talk to the crowd, and the whole vibes were so cool. After that, we headed back to the house.

On Friday is was rainy most of the day, so we hung out at the house. We went to the stadium and drank some beer and ate some food. We didn't watch any of the picks on that day. Today we didn't go at all, because we felt like we'd seen everything, so we came home.

Overall, it was a fun experience, and I'm glad I did it. However, I'd probably never go again. I can say I've done it, but the experience really needs more for the fans who go in person. I don't blame the Packers or the city of Green Bay. It was a strictly NFL thing. They need to make it a better product. But again, I'm glad I went. It was a cool experience.

Also, the merchandise was EXPENSIVE! T-shirts were a minimum of $40, but more likely closer to $50. Sweatshirts were a minimum of $100. Polos were a minimum of $75. I did get one quarter-zip sweatshirt while I was there on Thursday. On Friday I looked online, and things were 30% off, so I ordered a couple more items. I will say, they seemed like really good quality items. And to me, it's a one-in-a-lifetime experience.

Thank you for sharing! I wondered what it would be like in person. That first round and the 10 minute clock does not bode well to stay entertained. I will say even though I am a Bears fan Clay Matthews’ diss cracked me up.

Watching it on tv was kind of a let down this year too. All they kept talking about was Shedur not getting picked.

Glad you had a nice time, my husband had it on the tv for a little while. He is a Bears fan so we watched that pick. A teacher I work with went to the draft yesterday too, it will be interesting to hear his thoughts as well.

Too funny…!!!!! :hilarious:
I know there’s a pic of me somewhere in clothes almost exactly like that. I tried to find it, but couldn’t. It’s probably somewhere at my folks home. IIRC, I was wearing tube socks with red and yellow stripes, gold shorts like that, and an un-cropped, yellow sleeved jersey, leaning against my first car…a ‘71 Olds Cutlass…!!!!! :hilarious:
