Speaking of Eddie Murphy…
Back in the early 80’s, I got two 8th-row floor seats, for myself and a date, to an Eddie Murphy show at a large venue.
One of my youngest brother’s friends had a pop that was a University of Texas Police Captain, so I got them for face value.
My date was so excited when I told her. We had gone out twice before, and had a good time.
We were so close to the stage, we could see the sweat on his face.
For the vast majority of the show, she sat there stone-faced. She was also very quiet on the way home. When I dropped her off, I asked her if everything was OK.
She said she wasn’t mad at me, but said she had never seen anything so disgusting in her life.
I asked her if she ever saw “Eddie Murphy: Delirious” and she said she hadn’t, but saw him on SNL and thought he was really funny.
I was a bit surprised she didn’t know his stage comedy was of a more “adult” nature than it would be on a major network.
Anyway, we parted fine that night, but never contacted each other again.
When Carolyn and I were dating, we saw Gallagher, Bill Cosby and Jay Leno, but never saw Eddie Murphy…!!!!! :hilarious:;):hilarious:

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

I didn't see Delirious, but I did see Raw. With my dad.
Awkwaaaaaaard.

The only sketch I remember was related to Johnny Carson's recent divorce, and him having to give Joanna "half".
"Ed-eeeeeee. I want haff!"

OK, so there’s this commercial for some new scent for men, called Gravite’ by Particle, or some such company.
The premise is these women are blindfolded in a room, and the dude walks in with this new scent, and they are all totally aroused.
My only thought is what if they took off their blindfolds and saw this…!!!!! :D:hilarious:

No (stupid) hockey game tonight, so we totally watched Spirited. Well, I watched … Mike snoozed.

Absolute top 3 favourite Christmas movie for me - right up there, in no particular order, with Home Alone 2 and Elf.

It was so gooood! I’m sure I’ve said it before, but this would make an awesome Broadway show!
