Good luck tomorrow @SteveBrickNJ and enjoy the extra sleep
As people might have figured out from Figgty1's post, my school district has a delayed opening today. I changed my alarm from its usual 6:18AM setting to 7AM. I opted for only a small amount of extra sleep because my wife still needs to report to her job on time. She normally leaves the house at 8:10AM. I wanted to see if she needed me to shovel the driveway. Her car is in the garage so there is no need to clear her windows.

My SIL and her dad went to the Bills game today. Her dad posted this. One hour before kickoff. I’d heard on the news that fans arrived hours early to help shovel out the stands.

One more reason to be a fan of a baseball team that plays in a climate controlled domed stadium. Just saying.

Bills fans are loyal win or lose. Not so with my Fins who naturally lost recently in the frozen frosty game. In the last 10 games Miami has played with temps under 40 degrees, the Fins have lost them all. The players and even locals aren’t used to cold temps. When I was looking to buy a small condo in South Beach back in the day , the Art Deco unit came with wall unit AC and no heat. That same unit for sale at $35K in 1993 sold last year for $400K. A few days in the year, Miami could dip down to 40-45 degrees for a few hours and that is artic freezing for the locals.

Do most Floridians with no heat installed in their home likely have portable space heaters for when the weather calls for it?

whatever it is that comes back up (so to speak) is verboten for years, sometimes decades, and in the case of watermelon, forever.
I TOTALLY get what you are saying! This is why Richelle doesn't drink Bloody Mary's any longer.... ;)
BBC Ghosts
I love the girl who plays the lead in the BBC version. She was my favorite on Call the Midwife (until they killed her off 😭)

I have one of these and the lid is frozen shut.View attachment 763391
Last night we had snow and today some drizzle. Now we are in the upper 20s and I just set my garbage bag next to it since I couldn't force the lid to open. I guess in the morning I will have to boil some water...carry it outside....splash it on the outdoor garbage can lid and then quickly open it before it re 🥶 freezes

Our thread friends in MN, Wisconsin and Ontario must deal with this situation now and then. Any stories regarding this topic?

When it gets really cold (below zero) it is fun to go outside and throw boiling water in the air and watch it freeze. We once blew bubbles outside and they froze instantly and they blew around the the neighborhood like tumbleweeds the rest of the day.

Tuesday morning light snow or a wintry mix will continue, and will taper to snow showers and come to an end by early afternoon. Highs will only manage the lower 30s today, then becoming mostly clear overnight with a cold low in the middle teens. For the latest map and discussion for this event, visit the Weather Alerts page here: https://epawaweather.com/weather-alerts/.

Mostly sunny and remaining quite cold on Wednesday with highs only managing the mid to upper 20s. Mainly cloudy skies follow on Thursday, then another snow event is possible late in the week beginning as early as later Thursday night and continuing on Friday. Once we get past the current system we will have more information with the latter system, but several inches of snow is again possible. Cold and blustery over the weekend following this system, but both weekend days do look dry. A slight moderation to above freezing temperatures is possible on Monday

Meh. No more vomiting. A little of the other.

Still not eating anything except a handful of Saltines. Blistering headache and stiff neck. No aversion to bright lights … just to my kids.
{{HUGS}} sending prayers and pixie dust tomorrow is better
as for the last part I get that! DS picked fish and chips for his birthday and James told me he changed his mind and wanted pizza. Yeah whatever just go away isn't changing their mind:cautious: Now the fight is over chocolate or funfetti cake:banghead::banghead::banghead:
