Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I saw Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny today. I liked it. Was it as good as Raiders or The Last Crusade? Probably not, but it was solid.

My only complaint was that there were a lot of chase scenes. But it also had a perfect ending. The ending got me in the feels.
I saw it today too. I very much enjoyed it also. I would rank it third in the franchise.

1 & 3 - tied for first
5 - third
2 - fourth
4 - we’ll just pretend never happened

I never go to the theater. The last movie I saw in theater was either the last Mission Impossible or the last Star Wars... whichever was more recent.

And now my dad and I might go three times in July. We are going to see the new Mission Impossible in a couple weeks, then probably the Haunted Mansion movie at the end of the month.

I'd rank them the same way.

We saw it last night with my SIL and her hubs.

Rare “adults night out” (it helps that their youngest graduated high school last month and will start uni in the fall, the middle child, who is our goddaughter, probably would’ve hung out with the geezers, but she’s living her best life in Boca Raton as an intern for Deloitte (in between her bachelors and masters) and the oldest is working in her chosen field of architecture and is busy looking for an apartment in hipster Brooklyn 🙄….anywho, I went in with low expectations, and they were met.

I agree with you both that 1&3 are the best (I might give the edge to Crusade…depends on the day). I despised Temple of Doom and it will always be last, just because of Kate Capshaws histrionics. And the bugs.

I didn’t hate Crystal Skull, and I found Mutt less annoying then Helena (I should probably note that I’m not a fan of PWB in general) so I would put 4 in third place and 5 in fourth place.

I loved 1&2 , saw Temple of Doom countless times when it came out. Haven't seen the latest one but some critics gave it a big thumbs down.
2 was just too dark for me. I mean, in a franchise replete with Nazis, snakes, skeletons, and skulls, that’s saying something.

As @PUSH said, theatre-goers are enjoying it more than the critics.

Helena was a less charming version of Emily Blunt’s Dr. Lily Houghton in the Jungle Book - both strong, smart women using the protagonist to get what they want.

Emily just did it better … as one would expect; Emily Blunt is amazing.

The de-aging was done extraordinarily well. I had read that site that cannot be named’s review before I saw it, and I couldn’t disagree more.

You know me, if I like I movie, I’ll see it a couple more times. I love the big screen movie experience!

EXACTLY!!!

I didn't even process that (prolly because I just don't like PWB...and I totally LOVE Emily Blunt, but I didn't love the Jungle Book movie, despite my love for Emily and The Rock. I didn't even mind the brother and his sidebar...it just wasn't a great movie.

How often do you watch The Devil Wears Prada...not for Anne Hathaway, but for Emily Blunt? :D

The de-aging was very well done. I don't read that site, so I can't opine. But the jumping train cars scene did look like a video game. 🤷‍♀️
I love the big screen movie experience!
We know. 🥰

I like it too, it just costs a stupid amount of money now!

These are on my summer must-see list:
Asteroid City
Barbie
Haunted Mansion
A Haunting in Venice - Hercule Poirot

Given that I’m bound to see at least a couple of them more than once, that’s eight to ten trips to the show. My happy place.

I’m a member of CineClub - a really watered down version of Regal Unlimited.

For 99 bucks a year, I get 12 free movies (one per month, but they rollover month to month); $3 discount per ticket thereafter; free online booking (with the ability to pre-select my seats); and 20% off all concession purchases.

If I go by myself, as I often do, it doesn’t cost me anything for my first movie each month.

Haunted Mansion
Good Omens not a movie but miniseries on Amazon that I'll try and watch on premier dates
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3
Of course, all dependent on when we'll see the parental units

That dinner scene in 2 was so funny, " monkey brains !" , the gal and Indy with their comedy was classic.
