It’s not traditional oreo filling with a hint of peanut butter - it’s peanut butter. They’re good.

I think you've said that before. However, did you know that marble is a metamorphic rock? We've been doing a unit called The History of the Earth over the past couple weeks, and we learned about igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks yesterday. Marble is actually formed from limestone.I would assume the blueprints for the entire ship still exist, given that the grand staircase recreation in the Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge was constructed from actual blueprints … right down to the use of linoleum on the floor.
(Betcha you assumed it was marble. I know I always did. Nope, linoleum was the newest, “grandest”, most expensive material available in 1911-1912, so that’s what they used!)
I have always taken it for granite.Marble is actually formed from limestone.
I don't believe there is a limit so it comes down to how many cookies are there in existence. How many cookies do I need?
What is the title of Indy 5? Mystery of the missing Geritol bottle? Or perhaps, Indiana Jones and the lost youth? Hopefully, he will at least bring a grandson along with him to help him up when he falls.Tonight was my last viewing of Titanic on the big screen. Hopefully not forever, but certainly for this 25th Anniversary release.
In 28 days, I saw it 10 times - once with my cousin, once with my SIL, once with my son, twice with Mike, and five times solo. Add in a viewing of the oh so silly Ant Man & The Wasp Quantumania … and that’s a whole lot of time spent in the movie theatre!
Next up, at some point, will be Avatar 2, and then probably nothing until GotG3 and Indy5.
Roughly 43 hours you nutball. I'm pretty sure you didn't sleep that much in the past 28 days.Tonight was my last viewing of Titanic on the big screen. Hopefully not forever, but certainly for this 25th Anniversary release.

@ajrwdwgirl I think you've mentioned having student teachers before. If so, did you like having one? One is looking to come to our school in the fall, and I'm not sure if I'm interested or not. I think I'd like it, but then I also feel like I'd have some issues relinquishing control on how routines and procedures are done. Also, I feel like I have so much background knowledge in how to teach our two new curriculums, that I'd be cringing if it wasn't taught the right way.
Even if I say I'm interested, it doesn't guarantee I'd be the teacher who would get her.
I had a couple pre-service teachers in my room for just a couple hours back before covid. One was really good, and the other was very nervous and timid and didn't take much initiative. I did enjoy it, though. But that wasn't student teaching, either.I have had many student teacher and they all have been different with their teaching styles and their interaction with kids. Some student teachers have been very independent and some have needed a lot of hand holding. I would say that I have been 90% please with all of them and their handling of the curriculum and classroom procedures. If you have a 1st quarter student teacher they can work with you on setting up procedures and building the routines you want. Later student teachers usually fall in line with what you have established already.
I like that student teachers can come in with new ideas and put a fresh spin on lessons. Also if they are very good, then I feel comfortable letting them have a little free reign and I can work on certain projects that I don't normally have time for. If you are interested maybe a 2nd-4th quarter placement would work best for you so you can get your classroom procedures in place before they get there. You'll also be able to push past the "I wouldn't do it that way" feelings and remember they are just learning the teaching ropes themselves and the students will survive.

I'm not sure when it would be. The email just said "Fall 2023". I'm not sure if it'd be for a whole semester, or just a quarter. I'm not sure I'd want one for a whole semester, honestly.

They'd be coming from UW-Stevens Point. Our principal emailed our staff. I didn't know some places let you fill out surveys. When I student taught, they university just contacted places, and they said if they were interested or not. What university would they be coming from? Mine come from UW-Eau Claire. I just filled out their student teacher survey for next year. On their survey's they always ask if we want a pre-student teacher or student teachers and they ask for quarter preferences and if we want it quarterly or by semester. I've never done the pre-student teacher before, it seems too inconsistent for me for some reason.
Student teaching? I had a couple really good placements. But I'm not trying to brag here, but I was a pretty easy student teacher to have.what was it like when you were in that position?
We have another snow day today. I think that's our seventh this year, plus we've had 2 or 3 delays.
I'm surprised it wasn't a delay. I live next to a main road, but it's totally clear. I think doing it this way let's grades 9-12 be virtual, so we won't have to make up time.Relax and enjoy. We have had 9 this year and two early dismissals. We got snow last night but not enough for a snow day, thank goodness.
