Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Has anyone seen the GotG Christmas Special?

My thoughts:
Life is short, thankfully so is the special. šŸ˜‚
The music was very disappointing. I mean the Pogues for Christmas? Really?
The end credits were almost impossible to watch.

I will give it a very generous three stars out of five. Better than ā€œChristmas With the Kranksā€ ā€¦ not destined to be a yearly tradition.

I liked it. But then again I feel an affinity for anything starring a raccoon.

@NYwdwfan , did you watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade? It's a tradition with me -- I've seen it (on TV) ever since I was a kid. I like all the floats, flying balloons, dancers, bands, etc. (Have you ever seen it in person?)
I didnā€™t watch this year but we usually do. Itā€™s such a fun way to start the day. I went once in person probably 30 years ago with my friend and her parents. It was nice but I remember it was absolutely FREEZING that day! The balloons were super cool to see in person.

@JenniferS , saw this news on CBC online. Was unaware of (even small) earthquakes in Canada before. Seems somewhat rare overall. Alberta is quite a distance to the west of your province, so maybe you've never experienced one. (In addition to larger quakes, the U.S. often has small ones, that people don't even notice.)

I believe the only earthquakes she experiences is when the kids fight.

Iā€™ve only ever felt one personally - I believe it was a 5.2 in 1998. It caused my car to shift sideways on the highway. I was freaking out thinking something was very, very wrong with my newly acquired (not new) car. I was actually relieved when I heard on the radio that it was a substantial earthquake.

There are thousands of earthquakes in Canada annually, but the vast majority of them are so mild as to be detectable by monitoring systems only.

When it comes to decorating for Christmas, I just do a minimum of that inside. Figure I'll wait another week or so to start. I did, however, manage to write all my Christmas cards, and put holiday stamps on the envelopes. I'll mail those out tomorrow. Done. :joyfull:
I went to a branch Post Office location to buy holiday stamps and all they had is one with the title of "otters in the snow", not really festive but it reminded me of the Door's Song "Riders on the Storm". So since I had no otter choice and it did have snow. I bought them. I hummed that song all the way home. True story!

I only felt two. One in Vermont that rattled the dishes in the kitchen cupboard and another the first year I move to NC. The epicenter was around Washington, DC but felt it and heard the rumble here in Raleigh. I was using my computer and the monitor started to move side to side and then I heard the sound of a random piece of wood cracking. My apartment was on the bottom floor of a three story building. Since I had felt the one previously in Vermont, I was not alarmed because the shaking was just slightly more than what I had felt in Vermont, but people all over the area were running out of buildings into the street. Southern folk are easily panicked.

When in route to Vietnam I had occasion to spend a week in San Francisco. Since it was totally unplanned I got a room in a shabby old hotel downtown. To make it clear it was one of those that had hourly rates as well. This place was old enough to have been one of the survivors of the 1906 quake that nearly destroyed the city. Thankfully, in my indestructible youth, the thought never crossed my mind that San Francisco was considered earthquake central. I guess between being in transit to a war zone and the Mets winning the World Series, I was distracted from that possible hazard.
