Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

We are on our second trip out in the RV at Long Point Provincial Park. Electric hook ups only (no water or sewer), but we brought 81 gallons of fresh water with us, and there’s a dump station on the way out. We are in a corner lot directly across from the spotless washrooms and showers, so we’ll only need to waste our water at night and for dishes.

We brought the pup. She hasn’t barked at a single dog or person walking by yet. Good girl!

What do you look for in a campsite? I know some people like it quiet and stay at their site the whole time, but others like trails or points of interest nearby. Or are you still figuring that out?

Both, but I’m more about hiking, and day trips to visit points of interest.

Mike spent the first 25 summers of his life as a seasonal camper, and then we bought my Aunt’s trailer and seasonal camped for 2010 and 2011. I HATED it.

We bought a travel trailer so we could stay in multiple different campgrounds. Seasonal is so cliquey and HOA-y.

This particular trip is a do nothing by the beach trip. We’re easing the pup into it. She hasn’t barked at anyone or any other dogs walking by yet. I’m quite impressed.

If you ever make it to Wisconsin, I highly recommend Devil's Lake. They have some beautiful trails around a lake that was formed by the Wisconsin Glacier 15,000 years ago. Because of the glaciers, there are a lot of bluffs and rock formations all around the lake. There are several trails around it with different difficulty levels, so there's something for everyone. The Quartzite Campground is really nice there. My family used to spend about a week there camping every summer when my cousins and I were kids. Although you have to book about a year out to get a site. Or at least that's how it used to be.

It's also near the Wisconsin Dells, which is called the Waterpark Capital of the World. There's a lot of things to do there, but if I'm being honest, it's gotten pretty sketchy.

Here's a couple pictures I found online from some of the trails:

A lot of people also like to go up to Door County to camp and do nature-related activities, although I've never been up there. Door County is up in the peninsula in Lake Michigan.

With our work schedule being notoriously all over the place, we’re not in a position to book a year out … unless there’s a generous cancellation/refund policy.

According to Google, if you cancel by 3pm CT two days before, you will get a full refund of camping fees, but not reservation fees. For reservation fees it says it charges you $7.50 that's nonrefundable as a reservation fee. So to me that'd mean the actual price per night is refundable? And you'd just miss out on $7.50? I'm not sure... I read it for about 30 seconds just because I was curious.

You know I'm on summer break when I'm up posting at 11:30. 😂

But next week is my last week off. Then I have three weeks of summer school, which is just 8-11. After that I have a week and a half off, followed by two full day trainings since I'm going to be some leader on some team for our building. Then it's back to work officially. Summers go by so quickly.

We had a nice day down at the beach this afternoon after the weather cleared up.

Heavy rainstorm for about 4-5 hours this morning, but now no more is expected until Thursday. Hopefully we can get packed up, hooked up, and on the road before it starts.

Crazy waves and wind at the beach today.

Same thing happened to my 2006 Chevy Malibu Maxx (god, I loved that car!) in about 2012, and it would’ve cost $600 to fix it.
The parts are about $400. The labor is by far the most expensive. But my other options are not having AC, or getting a new car and paying way more. I drive a 2017 Chevy Impala, so it's not like it's super old. It's also paid off, so I'm going to keep riding it for as long as I can. Especially with the prices of cars and the lack of inventory right now.

I feel your pain.

I drove around a/c-less for a while and then traded it in for a leased Chevy Cruze. I enjoyed driving that car too. It was my one experience with leasing, I would never do that again.

I don't need a car for anything major until the 18th, when I start summer school. So that gives me a little time. But they have to order parts, and then it will probably be a little while until they can get me in. So hopefully it's done by then.

I'm sure you received plenty of extended maintenance insurance calls on a daily basis. I guess you should have answered the phone.

That is so not a thing in Canada. I never got the joke until it was explained to me.

Up here, the number one solicitation call is air duct cleaning. 9 out of 10 times I fib and say that I live on the 19th story of a high rise condominium and that I don’t think I even have ducts.

1 out of 10 times I totally jerk them around! That’s the fun time.
