Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Love Riverside.
We were supposed to stay there in 2011. It would have been our first stay at a Mod after a decade of stays off-site and at Pop. We missed our 2010 trip because my dad had just passed, so we were making it a very special trip - including a side trip to Chapel Hill with numerous activities planned there too.

And then, a week before we were to have left, my 62-year old mom passed away suddenly, and we had to cancel everything. We did finally make it to Chapel Hill in 2017, but we never did make it back to stay at POR.

We always made sure to take the boat from DS every year to spend an afternoon at the two resorts. Beignets, and long leisurely strolls to counteract the beignets, became a yearly tradition.

As you know, this is like our second home. I prefer the rooms at POFQ better, but I like the ground and ambience of POR more.

POR is (was?) one of the dog friendly resorts.
We were booked there for 2018 (?), but when that announcement was made, we switched back to CS.

I’m more than a little dog-phobic. 🤷🏼‍♀️

We just booked a campground for our first trip.

I’m excited and sick with worry, all at the same time. Mike hasn’t even hooked the trailer up to the hitch yet, and here we are heading out 365 km (each way!) for our very first outing.

Thousand Islands … here we come. Now the pressure is on to get everything ready for Tuesday.

Who thinks a trip to Boldt Castle is in our near future?

Not much to write about the beach... we went and left. A friend of mine lives close by, so he joined us. Heading to DHS within the next hour.

We have LLs for Mickey & Minnie, Tower of Terror, and Rock n Roll. We also got one for Slinky. It said 5:10 when we booked it this morning, but when I clicked on it it changed to 3:40. It didn't let me back out, so I'm going to see if they can change it when we get there.

This evening we did DHS. I first went to guest relations to talk about the Slinky LL we had issues with. She solved the problem right away, and I gave her a cast compliment on the MDE app. I know they probably get a lot of angry guests, so it's nice to let them know they're appreciated.

Then it was time for our Runaway Railway LL. All the effects were working this time. I really love that ride. My brother's fiancee hasn't been to Disney since she was a kid, so most things are new to her. She said that's her favorite ride so far. I miss The Great Movie Ride, but this is a solid replacement.

Afterwards we went to Slinky. I really like that coaster, but wouldn't never wait 130 minutes for it.

After Slinky we went to Smugglers Run. I got the pilot seat this time, and was still underwhelmed. I wouldn't wait more than 15-20 minutes for it, tops. They could have done so much better.

After Smugglers Run we hiked back to Rock N Roll for our next LL. That one is always a fun one. I hope they never retheme it.

Then we hopped next door and did our Tower of Terror LL as the park was closing. Tower is my favorite ride at DHS. Probably top 5 altogether. And at night, it makes it even better. It's my dad's favorite ride.

When we got back to the resort our entrance was blocked by 5 police vehicles. It looked like someone was laying in the rode, but I saw no civilian car around. We had to make a U-turn and go in through French Quarter. Not sure what was happening, but as we were driving a 6th police vehicle was pulling up.

We walked down to the River Mill and shared a meal. I got a shake. All delicious.

Tomorrow's plans are AK in the morning, then MK at night.

Today's ride count is just what was at DHS. Still a solid night.
