My first 3 times to Ireland I rented a car (Irish as you know say: "hired a car") and I drove myself.
1996...flew in Shannon...saw Bunratty Castle, Cliffs of Moher...Galway....Ring of Kerry, Blarney Castle...Wexford....Waterford Crystal tour....ended up in Dublin and flew out of there. 2 weeks!
2 years later in 1998 I missed it so much and went back.
Then it was forever until the third time....that was 2012 with my wife and daughter.
The first hour driving on the left is weird and then I get used to it. This time my wife wanted me to be able to just look out the window and not worry about being responsible for the driving.

Fear not, we WILL see Giant's Causeway this August. The itinerary I shared with you was for Friday 12th of August.
For Sat. August 13th this is the plan...
We will check out of our Belfast hotel and see The Dark Hedges...

@Tiggerish you said you've never been that far north. Maybe the images/videos I've shared will inspire you and your husband to give it a try next time you are over there?
I personally am over the top excited! How I'm gonna wait until August is beyond me.

Next week's forecast looks amazing. The highs Monday through Friday are all in the 80s, expect for Friday's, which is 79. And sunny/partly sunny. I know a lot can change between now and then, but just seeing that in a forecast makes me happy.

Wow, Steve, I think you've seen more of Ireland than I have! We are based in Roscommon. Two of my first cousins recently moved to Donegal and Wexford but I haven't visited them there yet. When you've got aunts, uncles, and thirty-someodd first cousins, you do a lot more visiting than sightseeing on a 10-14 day holiday, but hopefully when we are spending even more time there in retirement, we will get to do a bit of touring and see more places.

The Ring of Kerry is stunning, I was very glad it was my cousin driving, too easy to be distracted by the scenery.

Yeah, if you're this excited in May, I don't know how you're going to wait til August. Crossing fingers and toes for the weather for you. I'll be going to Alaska in August!

Still sourcing a truck. Everything we find is gone before they even answer our email enquiry. If gas prices stay at $2/litre for any length of time, people should start dumping them left, right, and centre before the fall.

The prices of used trucks down here are absolutely insane! Dealers are offering to buy used trucks back for more money then people paid for them!!

Our RV went up $36K between purchase and pick up dates. When the salesman heard we still didn’t have a truck, he offered to resell our unit and split 50/50 with us.

We saved on the RV, we’ll get hosed on the truck. It all evens out in the wash.

In the meantime, Mike is getting up early and using the RV as his office to study for his courses and exams. Spenser hangs out there all afternoon. And I watch Jays games out there (assuming it’s not Leafs playoff game night).

And the puppy is having the time of her life. She didn’t even want to come in with me last night.

I finally watched season 2 of The Mandalorian. I wasn't a huge fan of season 1. I thought it was hugely overrated. I was also low on the beginning of season 2. But once I reached episode 5, it was really good from there on out.

So while I'm happy we have warm weather this week, it's also going to be pretty humid. They say it's going to feel "tropical". And I don't mind the heat, but when you're teaching with a bunch of little active bodies in a room without air conditioning... it's not fun.
