Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

@JenniferS , I started watching the Grammys last night, but fell asleep during it. However, I did wake up at one point with the TV still on, and your countryman, the Biebs, was performing. Didn't catch much of the song, because the censors kept silencing out multiple parts.

Did you happen to see any of the show? What I always prefer about these big award shows is the red carpet "show" prior to the start of the event. There were some very interesting outfits worn, as usual. :joyfull:

I didn’t see it, but “Peaches” has some interesting lyrics; as does “Stay”.

I don’t listen to any music (unless it’s Meat Loaf or Disney BGM), but it’s blaring away at the gym 3+ times/week. The music before 2:00 pm is decent (Foreigner, Kiss, Meat Loaf, CCR, Boston, some 80’s hair band stuff), but the play list changes around 2:00 and then it’s all the expletive laden garbage. 🙁

Hi forum friends!
I've been really busy lately but I didn't want to totally disappear.....lest you all forget about me. ;)
So anyway, here is one example of how I've been spending my time....which is making Youtube videos for my band students.
This tutorial bass drum video is just slightly over one minute...

Are you saying I should rest my bum on a drum. I'm confused! Just kidding... 😉

Hey guys, can I ask for prayers/pixie dust for my MIL and my daughter's friend? My MIL seems to have maybe had a TIA this past week. That's what her doctor thinks it might be. She's basically like Dory. Like, I came in today and said hi to her, talked for a few minutes, then left the room to go to the bathroom, came back in and she says "Oh, Susan! I hadn't seen you yet! Hi!" when I had just literally talked to her 3 minutes before. She grabbed her pill box for Saturday several times in an hour and a half and asks "Is it Saturday?" My husband was there yesterday....it was her birthday, and she kept grabbing the same birthday card and saying "Oh what a nice card! Who's this from?" At least 4 times, he said. And she rediscovers the flowers she got every half hour. She has an appt. with the neurologist on Wednesday unless she gets worse and starts pouring coffee grounds into the toaster or something, in which case they'd want to get her in sooner. But for now, the doc gave her blood thinners to prevent an actual stroke.

And my daughter's friend ended up having emergency surgery today. They were all supposed to get together at her best friend's house tonight, but they got a message that Rosan was having surgery today because she's been getting headaches and has had balance problems, so they took her to the doctor, and they found a cyst blocking the "drainage". We're not sure exactly what that entails, but given the headaches and balance problems, I would think something in the head....like maybe the ear canal or something? Anyway, it required surgery. E said Rosan had a really bad headache yesterday and they were encouraging her to go home....so I guess it was not just a little headache, and then suddenly she's having unexpected surgery today. E said she got a message that the surgery went well, and if all goes well with recovery, she can come home Tuesday.

So good vibes, prayers, whatever you feel comfortable with, please!!
How are things going with your MIL and your daughter’s friend?

Also, is everyone in your household completely recovered from COVID?

That doesn't sound very Canadian at all!

We're all over the covid, thank goodness. E's friend is doing well...she's at home now and feeling better. E went to visit her last week and brought her some treats with their other friend. Not sure when she gets to go back to school though. I guess she's pretty bored and missing everyone.

We're supposed to get the results of my MIL's MRI today, but I haven't heard anything yet. The Neurologist agreed that it was probably a TIA or a mild stroke, and said she may recover in the coming weeks or months, but there are no guarantees. We've arranged home help for them to get medication coaching, and we took away the car keys. My FIL had to cancel their anniversary party, which is upsetting, but it's just not good timing, and since my MIL's brother died a week ago, the family isn't feeling up to partying. So far not much has changed with her, but it's only been less than 2 weeks. Hopefully we'll see some improvement soon.

Hopefully things improve with time. 🙏🏻

That’s a lot to deal with - hope you are all ok.

Thank you! They did a sonogram and discovered that a blood vessel in her neck is almost completely blocked, which is probably what caused the clot that caused the stroke. She has an appointment with a surgeon tomorrow and will have surgery, probably next week. Her left ventricle in her heart is also enlarged, but I don't know what the plan is to do about that. So that's where we are now.

At least they've identified the issues, and hopefully the surgery will go well for her next week. Regardless, a stressful time.

Any of you (who observe Easter) have any upcoming special dinner or get-together plans? Since it's just the two of us, I'll probably cook some ham slices and some veggies. I told hubs, no Easter basket, as I'll just devour all the candy. (However . . . I've been buying some Easter treats and discretely eating them, for a few weeks now.) :hilarious:
