@NYwdwfan and @JenniferS -- now that you've been back from vacation for multiple days now, how are you both adjusting to "normal" life back at home? I'm sure (both) families missed the heck out of you when you were gone, and were ecstatic when you returned.

When a family member is away for a few days and then returns, the rest of the family at home realizes all the wonderful things that person did for them on a daily basis -- and may have (unintentionaly) been taken for granted. That can be just human nature of course. But, it's good for the family to occasionaly be reminded, of the many contributions you make every day, in their lives.

My daughter gave me the hugest hug and told me she missed me. It was so sweet. She’s always appreciative but being 18 she is more off doing her own thing and I wasn’t sure she would really notice I was gone! But she did. And my son and I spend more time together since he’s younger so we got right back in our videogame groove.

It was nice to see the house survived without constant cleaning - make me realize I can dial that back a bit!!!

Canadian Leylah Fernandez is doing great again.
Going to the Finals of a Tennis Tournament in Mexico.
Do many Canadians see her on the news or is she featured on Canadian advertising or anything? 🤔

Spenser left the house earlier in the day I got back, and only returned home yesterday, so he didn’t see me for two weeks.

(He was quite paranoid I would be bringing COVID home with me, despite my negative PCR test. 🤦🏻‍♀️)

Mike missed me. The dog desperately missed me. The cats, maybe a little. The boys, maybe not at all.

Three out of 4 is still a majority.

(As for the boys, best I refrain from comment.)

Two years ago, we were entering our last normal week. That's so crazy to think about. We were all just going about our lives, without realizing what was about to happen. And to think about the initial, intense, strict lockdown so many people went into. Reminding myself of that headspace is weird.

Things are far from normal here yet, but we’re getting there.

Vaccine passports ended just last week. Masks may be optional starting later this month.

Things are getting normal here. Pretty much all mandates are gone. The differences remaining have to do with how businesses run (from home vs in person, etc). There are also still a lot of cuts that haven't come back, but businesses are still playing it off as a benefit for us.

"Masks optional" in school for staff and students begins today in New Jersey.
