If you’ve got to get some, that’s the right amount. We got 2” here….
5 cm is enough to be pretty on the trees, but not enough to trigger a “Snow Day”.

Same $@&! here.Looking at the glass sliding doors in my dining room. Saturday around 12 noon....View attachment 617432
Since the snow is "fluffy/powdery" would it still be that way if I waited until tomorrow to shovel it?Same $@&! here.
Update. The flakes are getting smaller. Now the updated forecast is it will stop by 3pm. Many of my neighbors are not waiting until then. They have started clearing the snow already.Since the snow is "fluffy/powdery" would it still be that way if I waited until tomorrow to shovel it?
....or.....would it become harder and compact?
Tomorrow the winds will be lighter and thus being outside will be more tolerable....yet if the snow will become heavy or like ice than I will do it in the late afternoon or early evening today. Seeking advice.
Mike would almost always prefer to do two or three lighter shovels, than one big back-breaking one. Three times 20 minutes works out to the same as one hour-long dig out.Update. I HATE this!
Such a cheerful poster....am I?
I see. I might be following that example. We'll see. My weather app says it is currently 19F with a wind chill of 2F.Mike would almost always prefer to do two or three lighter shovels, than one big back-breaking one. Three times 20 minutes works out to the same as one hour-long dugout.
Also gives him a chance to warm up between rounds, dry out his gloves, and curse at the weatherman.
We do ours in shifts, too. Snow will continue in my area until at least 10 PM. It's gorgeous out there!!!Mike would almost always prefer to do two or three lighter shovels, than one big back-breaking one. Three times 20 minutes works out to the same as one hour-long dig out.

I'm glad you are enjoying the snow!We do ours in shifts, too. Snow will continue in my area until at least 10 PM. It's gorgeous out there!!!
In retrospect, my question was stupid. It was absolutely necessary to take care of the driveway today. Tonight's low temperature in my town will be 10F.Since the snow is "fluffy/powdery" would it still be that way if I waited until tomorrow to shovel it?

Sorry - just saw all of this. I went out around 2 just to do the shovel parts and there was already 2 feet. I shoveled the walk steps then snowblowed the driveway. I didnt bother with the cars or shoveling around them. Then when I came in I saw the flower guy come home and start trying to shovel. My neighbor and I suited back up and he brought his snowblower over and I brought my shovel and we cleared him completely. Then I came in and waited about an hour and went back out and did around the cars. Not like I’m doing anywhere they still haven’t plowed my street! In retrospect, my question was stupid. I was really young when this show was on the air, so I don't remember anything about it, but I know my mom watched it. I remember the tune that went with the title, but that's about it. So many of the old school actors being lost this year!!Howard Hesseman, the hard rocking DJ on 'WKRP in Cincinnati,' dies at 81

Truly, one of my favorite sitcoms of all time -- WKRP in Cincinnati. (I wasn't familiar with his other shows.) Hesseman's (Johnny Fever) character was outstanding, as was the rest of that ensemble cast. Sad to see him pass away.Howard Hesseman, the hard rocking DJ on 'WKRP in Cincinnati,' dies at 81

That would be because all the old school actors are also very old actors. Time waits for no one.I was really young when this show was on the air, so I don't remember anything about it, but I know my mom watched it. how much of that evil white stuff did you finally end up with?In retrospect, my question was stupid. It was absolutely necessary to take care of the driveway today. Tonight's low temperature in my town will be 10F.
