You're going to be sad you did when I'm on season 41 this fall. Yeah, all of those posts I made back in the spring were actually from my assistant trying to lower the suspicion.

Looks nice....what is it made of? Is it like a heavy plastic-type thing made to look like wood, but more durable? We should probably replace ours, too. We have a wooden one that's been up for about 15 years now and one of the panels is loose and they aren't in good shape at all.Great progress so far

They are typically PVC. Very durable, don't safe and just need a powerwashing to look brand spanking new year after year. @SteveBrickNJ it looks great!

That would be so nice....low maintenance. I am TERRIBLE with my yard. I'm not allowed to have plants inside because I always kill them within weeks and then get really upset. I just don't have a green thumb. My yard looks terrible. So I've got weeds growing everywhere and for every one I pull, 3 seem to grow in its place. Then with the old fence panels broken in a few places... Yikes. I told my husband we should just put pavers all over but he doesn't think that looks nice. I said "Yeah, because our lawn looks so nice right now." and he's like "Oh....true..." But I just don't have time to devote to mowing the lawn and pulling weeds along with everything else. I do all the cooking, grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning, and lawn work, plus I have a parttime job. My husband only has his fulltime job. If I have only enough energy to do the cooking, grocery shopping and laundry along with my job, then that HAS to take precedence over the lawn, becase we kind of HAVE to eat and wear clothes. So the yard suffers.

If he were upset enough, he’d take over the lawn care duties. Apparently he doesn’t care all that much, so why should you?
In our neighborhood, the men all take care of the grass, trees, hedges; the women, the flowers.

Not yet. August 26th. It's harder to get a time in the Summer because of vacations. The examinors and driving instructors all have vacation time in the summer. My instructor is on vacation right now and has another in August. So it's going to be a bit, but we'll get there!

Yeah, I had told him before we were married that I'm not good with plants, so that was going to be his area. We had grass put in and he took care of it for a month or two, but then he'd come home and say the grass needed to be mowed, but he didn't feel like it today, he'd do it tomorrow. Then the next day, he'd say he'd do it on the weekend. Then on the weekend, he'd say he didn't have time because we were going to his parents' house, or we were going to do something fun like go to a museum or the zoo. He'd procrastinate for weeks and the lawn would start looking shabby. So I had him show me how the mower works....I'd never seen one on a power cord before, and didn't know how to turn it on because my mom had a gas one that you pulled a string to start. Anyway, I thought I was just doing it once in a while. He never touched the mower again. It will just get worse and worse until I go out and do it. We opted for no flower beds or anything because we wanted something low maintenance. So it's just grass with a hedge around it, but the hedge got some sort of bug or mold or something in it, so it's died off in several places, and a lot of weeds started growing there. Our neighbors have some really nice pavers and I mentioned I'd like to do that, but he said he thinks it's too plain. He wants to do stuff with planters and the gravel around them, but we have a ton of little kids in the neighborhood who will pick up that gravel and throw it or leave it everywhere as they walk by, so I nixed that. I'm not walking around the neighborhood to pick up all our gravel, and I'm not spending tons of money to replace it every few months. Plus, weeds will still grow up between all those gravel stones, so I'd still have a ton of work. It's not low maintenance. So basically, we disagree on what we want to replace the grass with. I want something that doesn't require more work for myself, and he doesn't like anything that doesn't require work, but I know him, and even if he says he'll do the work, after a few times, he will make excuses of why he can't do it that day, and then it will get out of hand again and it will become my job by default just because he'll put it off indefinitely.If he were upset enough, he’d take over the lawn care duties. I figured. The video you posted had "Vinyl" in the title, and I know what PVC pipes are, so I figured it was just the same stuff. My daughter actually had a project for school for a company that makes pvc pipes and such. They had to repurpose old bits of PVC to give them new life. One of her group's designs was a vertical garden planter using half pipes and rope. It looked pretty cool, but the client chose a different idea for them to continue with, because he thought the planter was just too easy. I kind of thought that was the point...how to take odds and ends and turn them into something else that they could market easily. Anyway, PVC is very versatile and it's durable. I hope the fence works out well for you. It looks great!

I don't know if you mentioned before who does the cooking. I would guess that he considers it your job. When it gets dinner time an he asks what your having you just say, "You know, I don't feel like cooking tonight, so you get whatever you want and I'll pick something easy for myself". Do that a few more times and the message might get through.
I have to say that, I did my share. I did some cooking about 50% of it. Closer to 90% by the end. I did my own laundry, I mowed the lawn and trimmed the hedges, built storage sheds, kept our cars running (at one point there were 4 of them. Mine, my wife's and my daughters) and had a full time job. For 12 years I even ran our Nursing home that was purchased for my Registered Nurse Wife because she wanted her own business, then deserted it after 2 years because it was to much stress. So that left me to deal with it! She pursued a Doctorate in Gerontology* at U-Mass Boston for two years renting an apartment and spending over 90 Grand, leaving me to see our youngest daughter finish high school and help her partially deal with feeling that her mother left her just when she needed her most. She hasn't come to terms with that situation yet. I fixed plumbing problems and electrical ones as well, wallpapered and did some flooring installation and my wife left anyway because she said I was too controlling. Ironic! It's amazing how many variations that people are willing to accept. I did for many, many years and even though I loved my wife and had empathy for her shaky mental condition, the weight of the world came off my shoulders the day she walked out to find the life she was looking for, whatever that was. She just continued a downward spiral for the next 16 years before passing from a stroke. I don't directly blame her for her behavior because of her problems, but I know that my life improved greatly when I no longer was allowed to try and help. I know that sounds terrible, but I have to say factual. You don't have to judge me, I do that all the time for myself.
* Which she never completed.
