Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Would you think it'd be worth it to visit someday from someone in the U.S.?

I've gotten hooked on Efteling pov videos lately...very similar to Disney's attention to detail & theming. I agree Droomvlucht (Dreamflight) looks neat, and the spinning house/mansion.
Based on pov videos alone, Symbolica looks like it's head & shoulders above MMRR, but not as good as ROTR.

I also like the orchestral music scores used in a lot of the attractions, like Spookslot, Droomvlucht, and the spinning house (forgot it's name).

It's a pipe dream most likely for now, but maybe one day I'll make it out there.
I wouldn't come JUST for Efteling, but if there was more you wanted to see in the Netherlands, then definitely worth it to spend at least a day there. I think you mean Villa Volta with the spinning house? I can't do that because I get motion sickness and that one would have me incapacitated.

Have you ever been to DLP? Symbolica is a similar ride system to Ratatouille. The ride system is pretty cool and the different rooms are neat, but there's nothing in between. It's just blank walls in some places and then you go into a room for a few seconds and some things move and then you back out and go to the next room. It is kind of cool that there are 3 different paths depending on your interests...there's a music one, a treasure one and....I forget the third. But you choose which path you want to take while you're in the line and then the lines split.

It really is neat, and there's a show called Ravelijn that's very very cool! It's kind of a fantasy storyline bird and stunt horse show. But imagine the Festival of Fantasy parade dragon with multiple heads fighting knights on horses. And there's also a night show on the water that uses all the music from the different rides in the park. It's really cool.

So I'd say yes, definitely worth it if you're coming anyway, but it's not like Disney where you could go for a week and still not have done everything. And the food leaves a lot to be desired. But there's enough to do in the Netherlands and Germany that you could easily fill several weeks, depending on what you like to do. There's a park in Germany called Phantasialand that is also very Disney-like. They have some cool shows, they have an HM-like ride...well, kind of a cross between HM and PoC. They have different countries represented. They have a ride that's like TSMM where you shoot frosting at mice. There's one like the Great Movie Ride where it takes you through several movies. Again, the food leaves something to be desired.

And like I said, there's plenty in the Netherlands...you've got the Anne Frank house, you've got boat tours, Madurodam, the Airborne museum, mansions....plenty of stuff to fill a trip. If you ever make it over, let me know and we'll help you plan.

This post right here encapsulates what I love about this forum. Worldwide perspective. People helping people. It's the best.

Thanks so much for the info! And sadly, I've never been outside of North America. :(
But that shall be remedied someday, hopefully sooner than later.

P.s. Thanks for this too. The name was slippng my mind.
Trying to figure this one out, if the seating area does any moving (lapbars?), or if it's just the "house" doing all the work. Either way, great illusion. I could see something like this going in Epcot for some reason. Maybe it's that awesome music. 😍😍

I want to try the Regal Eagle when we go next. I've heard nothing but positive reviews.

We ate there last Friday and it was great! My husband is a bit of a rib snob and he really enjoyed the ribs. We also shared the chicken, pulled pork, and brisket. The pulled pork and the ribs were our favorites. The chicken would be worth getting again and the brisket while good was really thin but it was tender. It just wasn't a hearty portion of brisket. The mac and cheese and onion rings were our sides and they were tasty too. The garlic bread was just okay, it was similar to frozen garlic bread from the grocery store.

There are so many places I want to visit!! When I was younger, I really wanted to visit Europe. If you'd have told me I'd end up living here, I'd have told you that you were nuts. Have you seen a lot of North America? We used to drive everywhere because we couldn't afford to fly. My mom's family was from Illinois, and we lived in Wyoming. We drove to Illinois every couple of years. When my choir sang in Carnegie Hall, we drove. When we visited my mom's aunt and uncle in Florida, we drove. There's a LOT to see in the good ol' USofA!! And I took a greyhound bus up to Canada to visit a friend a couple of times....greyhound is an experience, I tell ya!

I'll ask my husband. He did Villa Volta...I THINK it's the house doing all the work, but I just don't remember.

There were just 8 deer laying down in our backyard. Watched them for a while. They all eventually got up and walked away.
Does that happen a lot where you live? In Wyoming you get a lot of deer and antelope hanging out in your yard. Towns are mostly small and they'll seek the shade of your house, the grass in your yard. I woke up one night to something brushing up against the side of the house right under my window and I freaked out thinking someone was there to break in. I finally got the nerve to look out and felt so dumb...there was a herd of deer that.  Oh well....at least I didn't get murdered.

When we went back "home" on vacation one year, we stayed at a friend's house and there were some deer that hung out in their back yard under their trampoline. My kids thought it was SO cool! Not used to that here where there's little wildlife and certainly not in city limits.

So many different types of jobs have been affected by recent developments. Many days, I'm outdoors walking through woods and nature trails (in a local conservation area). Often, I see a dog walker (he has his own independent business), and I always marvel at his perfect control over the 5-6 (leashed) dogs he walks, all at the same time.

The past two weeks when I've passed by him, he's only had 3 dogs. That's close to 50% of his clients that are probably working at home now, and (at least temporarily) have suspended his services. :(

Not regularly, but it's happened several times before. My house backs right up to a field. I'm literally on the very edge of our town.
