There are two fires in downtown Madison near the State Capitol Building. The fires are to two gas and electric plants, and it's causing power outages to 11,000 people. Today is supposed to be the hottest day of our heat wave. The Madison schools all closed summer school today due to the excessive heat, with most buildings having no air conditioning.

There's not much information out there right now. Here's a picture of the smoke in the two different locations.

Update: The fires are both put out. MG&E (the gas and electric company) believe the fires were caused by a mechanical issue and not to excessive heat.

Just made some nachos with leftover taco meat. I put the meat on top of the chips, then added some queso on top, then some shredded Mexican cheese. It was delicious.

91 degrees. Feels like 112. That's a 21 degree difference. The humidity is so bad. It is by far worse than anything I was in at Disney last month.

So 112 degrees today. -55 in the winter. That's a difference of 167 degrees. Let that sink in.
