Yea, I'm thinking that they must be tough to clean thoroughly. Germs would be extensive.
Maybe they'd have to be put through a dishwasher cycle to completely clean through?

You can sort of see part of the little brush on the left side of my photo. Many come with little brushes to clean the inside...
About 3/4” shorter.... how did his finger end up?
Let's see, if you multiply these trips by 14, you will be getting about halfway to the amount of times you saw Titanic in theaters. The first time it was in theaters.Going to the show tonight. Was supposed to see Toy Story 4; but with minimal effort, I talked Tammy and my niece into seeing Aladdin again.
This will be my fifth time, for those of you keeping count.
There are no ridges in ours to collect yuckers. It’s completely smooth stainless steel. I just wash them in hot soapy water and then rinse.
How do you keep the brush clean and disinfected? You can sort of see part of the little brush on the left side of my photo.
i would use bleach waterHow do you keep the brush clean and disinfected?
Sounds like a lot of effort for a sissy sipper! I would think that all this lack of sterile paper sealed fresh straws is going to drive germaphobes to distraction. They will be back. Paper straws are a better alternative. When I was growing up, that is all that existed and somehow we survived.i would use bleach water
Hot soapy water. I don’t need things disinfected; just clean. I am not a germaphobe. How do you keep the brush clean and disinfected?
One more...Hello everyone! Today we went to a different island. My brother in law drove his car onto a ferry and we are now in BINTAN IndonesiaView attachment 388297View attachment 388298
Anyone remember Flavor Straws from long ago. I remember my cousins having them when we'd visit them and thinking they were so cool. If you drank milk through them it turned into chocolate milk (nasty, but as a kid I was impressed with anything that would change the taste of milk)
But on the whole reusable straws just gross me out.
Hmmm - I don't remember those at all. We raised most of our own food so grocery store items were pretty much non-existant to us.I recall those, but my mother would have made them a one and done. She was frugal with the grocery budget and those would have been considered a one-time "treat" for us.
Here's something else that we begged her for (and received one time only) . . .
