It's raining (of course) here this morning. ;)
The sun is shining now and was most of the day yesterday. However, I had to go to the store and as I was pulling into the parking lot the water came down like it was being poured from a bucket. Fortunately, I hadn't gotten out of the car yet, but, many did. It lasted about 5 minutes and stopped I went into the store and by the time I went back out, the sky was blue and the sun was shining once again. It did bring with it a truckload of humidity though and a small Tornado was reported (no damage).

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Yesterday was the second coldest May 13 in the GTA since they started keeping records. Plus, it rained.

Today seems nicer. In between the annoying bursts of some or other kind of saw*, I can hear the birds singing.

*Logically it should be a chainsaw (‘tis the season), but it really sounds like a concrete saw.

Tim Horton’s ... figures.
I thought I heard that Myth Busters had blown that out of the water. I know as a CDL driver we used to worry about that poppy seed bagel problem all the time, but, I know of no one that ever was punished for having a bagel. Must be the Police force was having a quiet day. I was stationed in the Tonawanda area back in the late 60' and believe me they had a lot more then that to worry about around there.

Since it's the day before all the fun begins, I figured a pre-report was in order.

A preview of shenanigans to come!

Part I:
While @Nemo14 and her husband may still be a day away... that doesn't mean they don't already have a crowd gathered in the lobby, anxiously awaiting their arrival on Wednesday.

To be continued...

Oh, I can't wait to hear all the deets of this beary cheery meet up!! :joyfull:

It's really gotten crazy around here in the past couple hours.

After word got out how much fun it was when @JenniferS and Mike visited back in January, now everyone wants to come out and see the next Sageteer to show up at the hotel.

The crowd keeps growing... waiting for Nemo's arrival.

Despite the fact that today is only Tuesday, not Wednesday... every vehicle to pull up to our lobby door has been met with high anticipation.
514002.jpg

I keep trying to explain to the excited masses that today is not the day Nemo and her husband arrive, but to no avail, as bears do not grasp the concept of weekday names.

I even let one come back behind the counter so I could SHOW him first-hand, where they are today, and why it won't be until tomorrow when they reach TN. But apparently bears have no concept of U.S. states or geography either. :(

So despite my attempts to calm the hordes of hyped-up @Nemo14 fans... they still remain waiting, and their numbers keep growing by the minute. No riots or vandalism have broken out, and all crowd participants have been orderly so far.

A good many have decided to camp-out here in the lobby tonight. Normally I would frown upon this, but considering this is a special event this week, I'll let it slide.

While I have displayed extreme leniency toward the lobby camping, one thing I refuse to tolerate are members of the paparazzi hiding inconspicuously to photograph Nemo and her husband when they walk in the door for tabloids.

That is pretty much all there is to report today. I'll try to maintain order around here, and keep everything civilized until our guests of honor arrive tomorrow.

I wouldn't mind, but I do have a tendency to kill plants! (NO green thumb here!) ;)
Hey, you need a plant killed, I'm your girl. My husband has banned me from having houseplants after I killed one I got from one of my students when I was teaching. Last day of school, one of my first graders brought me a beautiful plant, and I named her Cleo. Apparently I over-watered her and I was so sad when she died, so husband said no more!!!

Don't feel bad, since my divorce 19 years ago, I have only had two plants that thrived, the rest died. They were a couple of African Violets and the other was what I believe was called an Ivy Plant. That grew to around 50 feet long, wrapping around my kitchen a couple of times. Both required very little water which was a good thing because instead of my over watering, I habitually forgot to water either of them until it seemed like it was too late. But, they continued to survive in spite of me. When I moved here I gave them to my sister (current status unknown). When I got here I bought two new African Violets, but, they did not come from the same sturdy stock that my originals did.
One of the Violets that I had was my mother in laws originally. After she died in 1972 my wife took ownership of it. When my wife left she left it behind and I gave it to my daughter and she brought it here to NC when she moved and to my knowledge she still has it. Since it was a pretty big plant when we got it I would have to say that it is over 50 years old. I think surviving 4 different owners is pretty impressive.

The Big Bang Theory's Series Finale accomplished something in my town.
That being...
We had a Brand New and highly anticipated opening of White Castle in our town on Monday.
The line of cars have continually wrapped around the building and the line for getting food from the counter has also been impressively long.
Yet when I went by at 9:15pm tonight, the crowd was gone and there were just a few customers.
That's the power of a hyped television event! ;)
The series finale is tomorrow night. 🤷🏻‍♀️
