First off, your Disneyland trip report has been amazing so far! I am really enjoying all the photos ya'll took.

Second, I didn't want to interrupt it by posting this, but in response to:

Not sure if these are part of the same family you guys saw while there, but still pretty neat seeing the characters react.

I know you are kidding, but, here in the south that is all you ever hear. If one has been around awhile and paid attention it is obvious that things are changing. But, the problem is that like this particular cold air thing is not new. I can remember many winters when we had this kind of cold almost every winter there would be a stretch of it. I can remember in the 60's when my father ran the transportation end of an Oil Company having to take acetylene torches to the steering assembly (king pins and the like) to the trucks because they couldn't steer them due to frozen grease. Even though we are in one right now, they don't happen as often or for as long as they once did. I can remember having to drive around and pick up the truck drivers because their cars wouldn't start due to the cold. It has been a long time since that was a regular occurrence. But since then it has been generally much warmer and I can remember snow up to the eaves of our house. I can remember weeks at a time with sub-zero weather. Nothing closed down, we just dress warmer and continued with life. I'm not saying we enjoyed it, but, it was normal. Now in spite of what we think winters are no where near as bad as they once were, with a few exceptions.

The problem with the current deniers is that they cannot grasp the concept of the years overall average temperatures are continuing to rise and all it takes is a cold spell like this week to make them shake their collective heads and say... I told you so! Sure wish we had global warming right now. This isn't about a specific warming it is about the overall change of the type of weather that we will generally get in areas that it used to not be a problem. Until 1980 there was hardly ever a snow storm in the south, now it is a yearly event... so again we get the I told you so attitude. Unfortunately we only live in a very small part of time. Massive changes take years to become evident. Maybe when Mr. Trump has to swim to his mansion in Mar-A-Lago he will start to realize that there is a problem. He won't live long enough to witness that so he will always think it is a conspiracy to stop rich people from getting richer.

I had a person the other day that said to me that the idea of pieces of glaciers falling off into the ocean is ridiculous because they are already in the water, so there would be no difference. I had to explain that glaciers form on land between mountains in areas that are usually always cold. Just like they did in history years ago they move constantly until they reach the sea and pieces break off. When the average weather is warmer (remember the heat this last summer?) they start to melt and move more quickly toward the ocean and that is why it's a problem. He told me I was crazy. Everyone knows that glaciers are in the water, if they were on land how did the Titanic run into one. I guess that when they were in school they were out sick the day they explained it.

Sorry for the rant... but, I do care about my children and my grandchildren and if we don't do whatever we can it is only going to get worse. I don't think that there is anything that we can do to stop it, because nature will do whatever it has done for thousands of years. But, should make sure that we are not contributing to it.

I'm glad you are enjoying my report. Cool video, I don't know if that is the same family but you are right it is neat seeing the characters react.
