I just got the cutest call from my dad. He was concerned because he got an email that $3,000 had been charged fraudulently to his PayPal account. Do you have PayPal? No. So we had "Internet Fraud 101" class to explain how to see the actual email address an email comes from and how to recognize an email is not legit. My brain has not been firing on all cylinders today so it was nice to have someone think I'm smart for a few minutes.

While you were at it, did you also go through the proper grammar for a formal email, etc? I got an email a few weeks ago from a "bank" that said I needed to update my information on my credit card. It is a bank where I don't have an account, and not only did they not use my name, the greeting was not even gender specific...it was basically "To whom it may concern" but then in Dutch...they don't even know if I'm mail or female and I supposedly have a credit card through them? The grammar and sentence structure was horrible...obviously not a native speaker. And of course the ACTUAL address it was sent from was a personal email, not tied to a bank or business at all. So many red flags, but there are a lot of people who fall for that type of thing.
