Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I’ll live. That’s my line. :hilarious:
I kind of own the PJ’s thing too.

You can have Pitch Perfect 3 and Netflix, if no one else objects though.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?
I would live in PJs if it were socially acceptable. In college, I would make runs to Walmart in my flannel PJs. Here, there is nothing even close to Walmart/Target/Kmart and it would be really frowned upon to go into a public place in PJs. My MIL won't even let us stay in our PJs in their house if we spend the night...PJs are ONLY for sleeping. Once we get up, we're expected to put real clothes on. She finds it appalling that her sister-in-law has "PJ days" at home once in a while.
I LOVE Pitch Perfect...the 2nd one was cute, but not as good as the first one, and 3 is way better than 2. But, disclaimer, I'm kind of an Aca-nerd. I did vocal Jazz in college, which was mostly a capella, and I love the complexity of the arrangements with 3 or 4 songs mashed up into layers...it's incredibly cool. To a nerd like me, anyway. I have Aca-envy. *sigh*
I take it you're not a fan of Netflix...but how do you watch movies there? There's no rental place here anymore, and Netflix is the only place where you can watch stuff that's out of the theater, unless you own the DVD. I won't buy a DVD just to see a movie, so Netflix is it.

When i was a kid we were not allowed downstairs in our PJ's, so now PJ days are soooooo sweet!
I don’t leave our room without making the bed. However, I’ve been known to wear PJ’s for days on end. Especially in the winter. I had a PJ day yesterday; showered today, and put on clean PJ’s. :joyfull:

We have a family get-together tomorrow. Assuming I go with Mike, I don’t see how I could possibly go for three in a row.

I watched a DVD of one of my favorite Movies last night. My daughter gave me a DVD of The Music Man. I used to be in the Barbershoppers (singers) and the Buffalo Bills were my heroes. They are the school board in the movie. I became a member of the national group when I was 11 years old. My father was the local officer of the local chapter. The chapter in Vermont invited the "Bills" to a couple of concerts put on by the local chapter, so when I was 12 I stood right next to them on stage to sing "Keep American Singing". The little guy, with the huge tenor voice had his hand on my shoulder during the song. I was completely awestruck. His name was Verne Reed, in later years, after the group disbanded because of the death of two of the four, Vern moved to Vermont and bought a leather goods store. He always had a large booth at the County Fair and I would stop by, all grown up and dragging kids behind and talk to him for hours about what it was like to have been on Broadway, in the Movies and they even did the Arthur Godfrey radio show. He died, about 25 years ago of Alzheimer's. By then all the memories of that success and spotlight was gone from his consciousness. It makes me sad to even think about what happened to him, but, I still love how I felt when I heard them sing and still do.

OK, melancholy time is over... now who can I insult?

I liked your story. You don’t share personal stuff that often. That nostalgia bug makes us all do strange things, eh. ;)

That sounds like it would have been amazing. We did a couple of masterclasses. One was with The Real Group, who I love...their music is amazing. And one was with Simon Carrington from the King's Singers. It's so surreal to sing with someone you really look up to. We did a bit of a jam session with The Trenchcoats (who later changed their name to the coats, after the Columbine massacre) when they came to perform at the university. One of the guys in Vocal Jazz was in the fraternity that arranged for them to come, so he had arranged it and we all went to the concert together and then afterwards, we got to sing a bit with them. Lots of fun. Glad you got to have that experience with Verne...sad that he no longer remembered any of it. I think that would be so awful.

Good morning - still have a miserable cold, but I slept better last night.

I just caught a SECOND cold this past week. A few weeks ago I had a cold that lasted close to 15 days. You'd think that would be "it" for the year, but no!!! If I get a cold, it's once a year or less. I cannot believe that I have a second cold.

According to Dr. Google, you can get a second cold after your first one--but from a different viral strain than your original cold. Ugh.

Well, the day has arrived. The final day of 2017. I hope it has been an overall pleasant year for all of you, and I hope even better things await for you all in 2018.

Despite the fact we're barely into New Year's Eve, I figured why not go out on a late night creeper walk and photograph the happenings for what I like to call:
The Countdown Before The Countdown To The New Year!

December 31st, 2017: 12:50am
This is the place where all the fun happens in a little less than 24-hours. Standing at 407 ft. tall, this beautiful Space Needle will be where my town "drops the ball" at midnight, and rings in 2018 with fireworks and music. As for now it stands quietly waiting...

12:55am
This is the street directly in front of the Space Needle where thousands of people will gather to watch the spectacle, and slowly freeze their faces off in the cold nighttime temperature. I plan to be among them.

Why on earth am I riding an elevator at 1 in the morning?
View attachment 253323

Why, to show you all the top of the Space Needle, of course.

View attachment 253325

Nearly deserted streets....but not for long.

Back down to street level to let my face thaw, I notice they have already gotten the countdown clock on the side of the Space Needle tower, counting toward the grand moment of 2018's arrival. View attachment 253328

Time to head back home and call it a night. Goodnight, decorative Imposter Bear.

Goodnight, @JenniferS and Mike.

Goodnight all, and happy almost New Years.

I love this! You have the most fun and best ideas! :joyfull: :joyfull: I also like walking around places when they're deserted like that. Thanks for the photos.

(P.S.: I was surprised that you could actually enter the space needle elevator so late, or should I say early morning. Most buildings, sites, etc., would be locked at that hour.)
