Tonight after our children's Christmas pageant at church, a large group of us went caroling in our pastor's neighborhood. It was really great fun. We had a guitar accompaniment and we even had Santa Claus caroling with us. Afterward we had a little Christmas party. A lot of the younger people at my church like to swing dance. Some of them were trying to teach me tonight. Let's just say I'm going to have to keep practicing. I had a great time though. It really put me in the Christmas spirit.

That sounds like fun. Reminds me of when Ii was a kid, and the older kids in the neighborhood would go to a house that had a disabled child living there, and they'd stand outside and sing Christmas songs to him and his family.

It’s absolutely gorgeous today - supposed to rain tomorrow. Might as well get out and walk today, see Titanic tomorrow.

I love when things work out in my favor.

I was running low on dog food to make it to my Amazon subscribe and save delivery date. Petco sent me an email for $10 off $30 purchase, free shipping, includes food. A brand in our rotation had $10 in Petco rewards with a $30 purchase. I went thru a cash back site for another $1 back. I used my Amex which currently has $5 credit for spending $25 at Petco. So my $35 bag of food will be at my door in 3 days for $9.

So, as we've done for the past 2 years, we went to Newport today to see the Christmas decorations. I got to choose which one to go to so my first choice is always The Breakers.

I know I've posted pictures from there every year now, so you might get a little deja vu for the next few posts.

There are trees in almost every room, so I'll jus post a few of my favorites:

One tree was in kind of a steam punk theme or whatever... I really loved the doorknobs but I don't think I'd hang them on a tree...

Nemo, just an fyi--at least on my computer, only 1 picture was showing. The others just say IMG. The photo I could see had a Christmas tree in it.

There was a gingerbread replica of The Breakers...

and one of Rosecliff (where The Great Gatsby was filmed)

They were really awesome and entirely edible .
