Pride goeth before a fall.

My niece was over today, and she commented how nice my skin looked - so healthy and fresh. I thanked her politely, but all the way to work I’m congratulating myself on how well I take care of my skin. I wear minimal make-up, which is always removed before bed. I cleanse, tone, and moisturize religiously ... since I was 13! I don’t smoke or lay out in the sun. I drink lots of water and always use sunscreen.

Yup, good job Jen. And then around dinner time I developed two blemishes (sounds so much classier than “zits”) the size of dinner plates! That’ll learn me. :joyfull:
Posting at 2:56AM or 3:56AM.....is THAT good for your skin? Why were you not asleep? Were your "blemishes" keeping you awake?o_O
(This is meant to be humerous....don't take me seriously please :D)

My favorite part was talking about the dance break, "Oh my goodness.... that's not it, but that was amazing."
I feel like I could really hang out with her and have a good time. Like..she's just the kind of person who would make you feel like a friend and you'd have a great time just talking, or driving around, or going to the movies...whatever. Like I could relate to her and she to me. She'd be a fascinating person to meet.

I never had blemishes until after I had kids. You know how teenage girls freak out about blemishes because who wants to date the girl with postules? Well, I never had to worry about that anyway...no one was lining up to ask this nerd girl out. But if they HAD, I'd have had no anxiety about my skin! And I don't wear make-up, with the exception of the occasional party or date night, or for performances because the stage lights wash you out and I'm already practically albino, so I don't have any color to wash out!

Don't like Carrots huh? That explains why you cannot see the evil of winter.

All my life growing up, this is the image that graced the front of the telephone book.

I’m not even sure my boys know what a telephone book is. :( FYI - This is one of those times when “paper” was ten times better than the internet.

White pages in the front; yellow pages in the back. Near the end of the phone book’s reign, blue pages were added - a listing of all gov’t agency phone numbers. Just one more way the government messed everything up!

That's really nice. Actually, I still use a phonebook from time to time. Sometimes, (for the yellow pages business sections) I prefer the way the pages are laid out, versus the online listings.

I don't think that the online view captures my attention, as much as the ad placement on the paper (Yellow) pages. Perhaps it's because it's so fast to scroll or flip screens online, versus a slower approach to turning pages in the book. That extra second on a paper page could translate into a sale.

In our phonebooks, we also had street maps of the area, which came in handy.

The home pictured is Melville House, now called the Bell Homestead; the place where Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone.

I haven’t been in the Homestead in decades, but I drive by it at least once a year. It’s a very pretty piece of property.
