Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

About an hour ago, I shut off the AC and opened some windows.
Currently huddled under a blanket watching the Jays, I am too cold to shut the windows.

August ... my butt!

If today hadn't already been Clean Sheet Friday, I'd be tempted to strip the bed and hook up my heated mattress pad. Brrrrrr.

We were in the 50's on Thursday here in Wisconsin. It is warming up a little now.

I bake cookies from scratch every couple of weeks. I'm at the point I can't even eat store bought cookies. They're too crunchy. I have some peanut butter cookies with chocolate chips in the kitchen that I will share.

When I was a kid I rarely ate store bought cookies. My mom would bake a couple times a week, cookies, bars, cakes.... So I really don't care for any store bought cookies, unless they are the soft style of cookies. On the flip side Hubby's mom rarely baked anything and just bought cookies, so he loves things like Oreos and Chips Ahoy. But he does admit that homemade is better. I like to bake but I don't do it frequently because we don't need to eat a lot of that stuff, so he goes a little crazy when I do bake. On Monday I thought chocolate chip cookies sounded good and he was very pleased when he came home to fresh baked cookies. There would have been more cookies but some of the dough jumped out of the bowl and into my mouth.

Here are some of the cookies

That happens a lot here too. I blame gravity.

I gave you a like, even though those don't look like oatmeal raisin to me. ;)

That's because Nabisco doesn't include a dough pouch on the package.
:hilarious: Actually I have multiple (multiple) tubes of Pillsbury refrigerated cookie dough usually (the boys and Mike bake cookies six at a time in the toaster oven), but I have never seen anyone even nibble a crumb of cookie dough.

We don't buy cookie dough ice cream either.

The Italian ice place near me has a flavor called "peanut butter cookie dough". Yeah - it's my favorite.

My mother would sometimes bake cookies, but more often, she'd buy cookies. When I was a kid, there was a small cookie company in my town. If you went in the front door, they had a small retail store inside, that featured all their cookies. However, my mother didn't go in the front door . . . :cautious:

My mother went in the back door. You see, In the back, there was a "counter" (no fancy displays . . .) that also sold cookies--but they were all broken! She bought the cheapo, dismembered, ( ) cookies in plain brown paper bags! HA! :p

I have no issues with broken cookies - as long as they're not stale.

Your mother was frugal. Nothing wrong with that.

You want to know how frugal I am. I fished Ski's laces out of his work boots before tossing them. The boots, not the laces.

I scrubbed them as best I could, and hung them to dry. :joyfull:
