My oldest son loved the original. He's a retro old soul, just like you.

Has he seen the two episodes from Sunday? What did he think? I'm interested to know what fans of the first run think of the new episodes.

For me there was just something off about the look of the new episodes. So much of what made the original show so great was the feel of it. I don't even know ho to describe it. I'm also not crazy about the new title sequence. For me the original opening credits is one of the most iconic television opens of all time. I thought they should have at least kept the bird and Twin Peaks sign. I also thought it was weird that it seemed like the majority of the first two episodes didn't even take place in Twin Peaks. I feel like I'm complaining a lot but I actually am still excited about the show being back.
I loved the original series back in the 90s. Don't remember too much about it at this point, but man, talk about creative and quirky. It was epic David Lynch. Really liked Kyle McClanahan in that show.

I just love the weirdness of it. There are enough normal shows out there. It's nice to have a show that's just really out there. I wouldn't expect anything less than that from David Lynch. I just hope now that he has more leeway he doesn't go full on Eraserhead. I can enjoy weird and quirky but that crap disturbed me.

At first I thought the National Don't Fry Day was referring to not frying food. I'm from the South. That would be sacrilegious to me.
5 is a perfect number in and of itself. It should be everyone's favourite number.
And yes, that is a particularly lovely 5.

I suspect I must have shared that 5 is my favourite number. :joyfull:

I like the number 7.

Waiting for Son #1 to get back to me with his thoughts.

I'm a bit of a night owl. I can go to sleep no problem if I want to, but I prefer to stay up late and sleep late. I am not a morning person.
I am not a morning person either. I go to bed at 3:00, and get up at 10:30 ... plus once or twice to go to the washroom, plus once or twice to let the dog out, plus once or twice to make Snore-Boy roll over, plus once or twice because the boys are rolling in, plus once or twice because my hip is hurting ....

On the plus side, I can completely recharge on a quick 20-minute nap, which is exactly what I will do when I get home tomorrow.

Don't know if you recall one of (so many!!) weird scenes, but I was just thinking about this one. Kyle (and others in the background), were all casually walking along -- while bouncing ping pong balls across the ground. o_O ;)

That sequence had nothing to do with the storyline, and peculiar scenes that Lynch would just throw into episodes, would surprise the viewers. Back then, I recall trying to make sense of these oddities, and came to the conclusion that there wasn't any sense to them! :p
