Maybe they'll have 3 overtime periods again. I hate it when that happens.
I think I remember reading that it came from the fact that one of the first places to sell it was on the boardwalk in New Jersey or maybe Coney Island, one of those. The connection was just that the ocean was right next to the stand. And correctly, no salt water was used unless they added salt to the recipe. Then it could truthfully be salt plus water. Doesn't matter, the only place I ever bought salt water taffy was at the Goldenrod in York Beach, Maine. My whole family had a standing policy, if you didn't bring back taffy from there you would be subjected to severe bodily harm.I knew that! It's just a tourist thing.
nopeIs there a difference in Salt Water Taffy and just Taffy?
I may be the only living person who has never watched a single survivor episode. So I started season 12 of Survivor today. Two episodes down. Recognized a few of the players (Terry and Shane from the Second Chance vote, and Aras from season 26). Can't stand Shane. No idea who wins, though, so don't spoil that for me please!
Exile and the Immunity Idol were introduced. Still not a huge fan of Exile, but I like it better now than I did in season 29.
Oh, and here's my updated list of most deserving winners, with season 30 included.
1. Tony
2. Cochran
3. Tom
4. Mike
5. Richard Hatch
6. Tyson

8. Jenna
9. Ethan
10. Danni
11. Chris

I only started watching because of this site. Before that I can only vaguely remember one episode that I saw about ten minutes of.I may be the only living person who has never watched a single survivor episode.
Nope, there are two of us. I hate reality shows. I wouldn't mind them if there was even a hint of reality to them, but, alas there is not.I may be the only living person who has never watched a single survivor episode.
Maybe not the typical sense of reality, but in the case of Survivor, it is a very real situation for the contestants. I agree that there are some shows that are edited so much and so overly dramatized and scripted that it completely alters what reality TV is supposed to be, rather than keeping it the unscripted real-life situation that it's supposed to be. I think Survivor does a good job of keeping true to what is actually happening.Nope, there are two of us. I hate reality shows. How could this be considered reality TV though? In whose reality do strangers get thrown together on a deserted isle with a TV crew?Maybe not the typical sense of reality, but in the case of Survivor, it is a very real situation for the contestants. Yea, it's surviving all the while trying not to run into the director, camera and camera crew. Sorry, not interested! I don't think I would mind if at least it was billed as fiction, but, it isn't.Maybe not the typical sense of reality, but in the case of Survivor, it is a very real situation for the contestants. Because it is a real-life situation because it is actually happening. I'm not saying it's an everyday situation that everybody goes through. If it were that, it would not be on TV. But it's real-life reality for the contestants because it's unscripted, and it's a scenario they are living in. If there were a script, it wouldn't be a reality situation. But the "reality" aspect isn't directed at the viewer's situation, it's directed at the contestant's situation. How could this be considered reality TV though? I don't view it as fiction. It's an event that actually took place, just captured on camera. Survivor is edited to give certain people a certain look, I won't deny that, but it isn't as "Hollywood" as I think you think it is.Yea, it's surviving all the while trying not to run into the director, camera and camera crew. You've never had that happen to you?!How could this be considered reality TV though? In whose reality do strangers get thrown together on a deserted isle with a TV crew?
Listen, you can do whatever you want, I'm not judging you. If you enjoy it, that is fine. I'm personally judging myself as 'not a fan' and said why I feel that way. It is my blanket opinion on all so called reality shows. Just not my cup of tea. But, just as a counter point, I think it is a lot more "Hollywood" then you think it is. We will just have to agree to disagree.I don't view it as fiction. It's an event that actually took place, just captured on camera. Survivor is edited to give certain people a certain look, I won't deny that, but it isn't as "Hollywood" as I think you think it is.
They should make a reality show based on my life. It would be me sitting at a computer writing this post right now. Fascinating, huh? You've never had that happen to you?!![]()
I think the few exposes done on these types of shows has spoiled it for me. I know that they "create" certain realities for the contestants and the fact that I know that the film crews are there really spoil it for me on certain shows whose premise is survival alone. (Nekkid and Scared)I don't view it as fiction. It's an event that actually took place, just captured on camera.
