Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

We always had egg salad sandwiches the week after Easter to use up all the hard boiled eggs.

Well, my sammie was somewhat premature. You see, I boiled a dozen white eggs this afternoon and we're decorating them after dinner tonight. However, one of them appealed to me for lunch. ;) I guess that means that hubs gets 5 eggs to color, and I get 6. Oh, wait a minute . . . that would not be gracious of me, would it? o_O

A happy Easter weekend to you all! As a gift I have strategically hidden nearly a dozen eggs at various locations throughout my yard for you all to find.
I live in an apartment with a very small yard.

Hope everyone has a good holiday weekend.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

Don't fall for it. It's a trick.

This is what you'll actually encounter:

And we have a baby! Giraffe that is
This whole "April" thing brought back some memories from years ago. My wife and I took the girls up into Quebec. I don't remember which zoo it was at, either Granby or Parc Safari, the one that you drove through (like the safari ride in DAK). Never mind, it was indeed Parc Safari. If you drove through it the monkeys would climb all over your car, giraffes and other creatures would come up to you window and lick the windows trying to get to snacks. Anyway, we drove by an open area and there was a Mother Giraffe giving birth to her young-in, just as we slowly passed by her. The poor little one had a long drop down to the ground, but, he/she got up immediately and on less then solid looking legs stood up and started to follow mom around. She was moving around slowly with the umbilical still hanging out. Nature can be quite nasty sometimes. It was amazing how fast the newborn was up and walking. Kind of makes humans seem very inferior to them.

Just as a side note... don't ever attempt to ride through that place in the middle of summer without AC in your car. There is no guarantee that the occupants of the car will survive.

We have something similar here - African Lion Safari.
You could always tell which cars were feeding the giraffes based on the number of animals clustered around the vehicle.

He's a little beyond the realm of punishability now, so I will confess that my dad would spend forever cutting up bags of mackintosh apples and cutting farm fresh corn into quarters prior to our yearly trip.

I can truly say that I have had more sloppy giraffe kisses than just about anyone you know. We would open our car windows (in that section only) and they would stick their whole heads in the car.

Next to elephants, giraffes are my favourite safari animals. And for those who don't know, monkeys are nasty. They do bad things to your car, antennas especially, and they like to show you their naughty bits.

If you have a really nice car, there is a monkey bypass. We never had nice cars, so it was never an issue. We used to take our boys all the time too, but my favourite memories are from MY childhood.

This wasn't the last time I went with my dad, but the summer visit of 1990 is particularly memorable. He was driving; my Nan was in the front seat; and my recently widowed Baba and I were in the back seat. Six months later, Nan was gone too. :(
