Although I really like turkey, I have it a lot, so I didn't have any yesterday. You see, hubs, my sister and I got out to a restaurant, so I like something different. I had baked stuff shrimp, Delmonico potatoes, salad, veggies and a delicious chocolate cake for dessert. Hubs enjoyed oysters on the half shell, clam chowder, and steak, veggies, etc. He had cheesecake for dessert (he rarely eats sweet desserts). Sis had the traditional, full turkey meal.
I was so full that when I came home, I crashed on the sofa and napped for an hour! Thanksgiving pig-out success!!

Florence Henderson, dead at 82.
I know--it's very sad. I started a thread about it around a quarter of six this morning. I had been watching the early AM news and saw the story.
Her childhood wasn't happy. Her father was an alcoholic and her mother left when she was 12 years old. Money was tight. She had a good signing voice and would sing for tips--which she then used to help buy groceries. She also cleaned houses. I can't even imagine that at age 12.
