Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I managed to work a 7.5 hour shift tonight, and I still might have enough energy to play a full football game. In Madden, but a football game nonetheless.
I've been working in the basement and doing laundry.

I have four days left to get ready for holidays, and then once we get home, Hubby is almost immediately back to work.

If I wish to avail myself of his services, I am swiftly running out of time.

Off to get my hair coloured tomorrow, and weather permitting, I'm going to the beach with my Auntie and Cuz all day Thursday. Time really is ticking.

And yet, here I continue to sit ....

Time if ticking before I go back to school. A week from right now I'll be counting down the minutes of my last free night for a while.

That's what all poor people say when they are trying to hide the fact that they didn't eat lobster every night. I bet you didn't even have a yacht.
No, but we did have central air. Only because my daddy worked at KeepRite though.

And which team would that be?
The Kansas City Chiefs. I simulated the first two seasons until my starting QB got old, so I could play with a QB I drafted. I'm 2-0 in non-divisional games, and 0-2 within the division. Tragic, I know.

You say "tragic". I say "Greek".

Add ground beef, a can of corn, shredded cheese on top ... and you have my dad's "slop", a weekly staple from my childhood.

We weren't classy enough to call it "casserole". For us, it was "slop".

My father loved casseroles--any kind. The reason was that they were his favorite kind of "mess" meal. (He liked to mash everything together on his plate. Having everything all together in a casserole with some sort of sauce, just made it easier for him.) As a kid, I thought he was being uncouth when he extolled the virtues of a "mess" meal. (As an adult, I think it makes perfect sense! :p )

So, it's a toss-up as to which term, slop or mess, was more unrefined. I think it's a tie. ;)

Cheese and ketchup do not mix well together.

I absolutely love the cheese/ketchup combination. Just curious - do you like cheeseburgers and if so, do you put ketchup on your burgers? I'm quite a dork but this kind of stuff fascinates me.

My daughter and I were watching the Mets game and at the end of the inning the TV showed the outfielders running in and having a conversation about the inning ending play. She remarked that they were running and talking at the same time and said she gets winded when she does that. I said they are PROFESSIONAL athletes - they get PAID to be athletic - it's their JOB. To which she responded something about being insulted I was calling her out of shape.

And they can chew gum at the same time, and even blow bubbles while making a great catch in the outfield. I think that's why they get paid the big bucks.
