I know most people measure an upcoming special event with "how many sleeps", but I've been known to use different metrics.

How many gas tank fill ups? - 2
How many work days? - 6
How many Clean Sheet Fridays? - 2
How many cups of coffee? - 30 (including the one I am drinking right now!)
How many hairwashes? - 7
Cups of coffee is too unpredictable of a thing for me to do a countdown with.

It was cool out last night - finally - so we slept with the windows open. :D

The garbage truck went by at 5:50.

With us, it's the planes....

Reminds me a little of one of my brother's experiences, with a Saturday (early morning) neighbor across the road. My bro lives out in a semi-rural area, and after putting in long hours of work all week, he looks forward to sleeping in late on Saturday mornings. He can sleep late on Saturdays year-round . . . except for summer.

You see, his neighbor loves to mow his grass, gleefully riding around on his noisy power mower, at 6 AM, every Saturday morning. (The neighbor's "lawn" is about the size of a football field. ) One Saturday morning, my bro gets up, storms over across the street to the neighbor, and yells at him to knock it off. (Now, this is a neighbor that he really didn't know, except to maybe wave hi to him once in a while.) So, after my bro's rant, the man kept pointing to his ears and shaking his head. o_O Bro then realized that the man was deaf and hadn't heard a word he said, and obviously, never heard the sound of his loud lawn mower either! :D
