Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

The weather said it was snowing, but it is 60 and rainy.

We had plenty of snow today, and it was really pretty. The only down side was that (while walking) I slipped on a large patch of black ice on the train station platform this morning, and hit the ground. Banged up my knee a bit, but I was fine. (I was more embarrassed that I fell in front of a crowd, and people came over to help.)

But here's the best part. I was slightly limping when I walked in the office, and my boss told me to get checked out at the employee clinic. (Medical people tend to make mountains out of molehills.) So I went there, convinced them I was fine (only a small bruise, and they gave me some Advil), and then I took off for breakfast! (The employee clinic is notoriously slow, and I took advantage of their, ahem, "reputation" . . . to eke out a little more time out of the office). I had bacon, scrambled eggs with cheese, an English muffin, and coffee! Yum! :joyfull:

Sorry to hear about your fall, but I'm glad that you weren't seriously hurt and that you got a delicious breakfast out of it!

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
There was an obit in the paper today for my former grade 7/8 teacher. My former classmates and I are having quite the FB discussion as to whether he was one of the best/worst teachers we'd ever had.

He was very much a "here you go, try it out, let me know when you need help" type of teacher. Definitely not a hand holder. I liked the challenge. Others did not.

The comments are running true to form, based on the type of student we were more than 35 years ago. :joyfull:

You know what's funny?
So today, DW's grandfather passed away. Obviously, everyone is very sad but there was also some relief as he doesn't have to be in pain anymore. DW flies home tomorrow while her parents and brother will be sticking around for his funeral.

I won't lie. I have missed her.

Sorry to hear about that, hopefully she got to say her goodbyes.

I totally understand. My mom's final days were nothing we would have wanted to continue, but it was still sad to lose her. I'm glad your wife got to go back and see him, despite all the problems over there. DD will be glad to have her back too I'm sure.

Condolences. Was she able to see him before he passed?
