We were in Buffalo this time last year, and Son #2 was in the Regal Cinema washroom at the same time as a guy who had a handgun tucked into his waistband while standing at the urinal.
He made no attempt to hide it, and even exchanged a few words with my son.

My son was freaked right out.

Things are not perfect up here, but the gun culture is different.
Handguns are illegal. Period.
There was a tragic shooting in Toronto this week that left three dead, bringing our YTD total up to 22.

I really hope Chicago can get things under control soon. My son went there on a school trip two years ago, and fell in love with the city. My Hubby has been there many times, and says it's a fabulous place.
